Tugu Jogja is Yogyakarta's most famous landmark. This monument is located right in the middle of the intersection of Jalan Pangeran Mangkubumi, Jalan Jendral Soedirman, Jalan A.M Sangaji and Jalan Diponegoro. Tugu Jogja, which is almost 3 centuries old, has a deep meaning and at the same time keeps some historical records of the city of Yogyakarta.

On the North South Axel leading up to the Sultans Palace, Tugu is a magical symbol of the city. It was said that when you touch it, you would always come back here. They screened it off because too many people were doing that. I guess a selfie would do the trick too!

jogja icon. just 2 km east of ODESSA. in the night this monument looks prettier with spot lights on. there are many angkringan style food stalls with live musics south of this monument.
