The artists who work out of SOWA often have open studio events. There are dozens of studios in the building, so it's a lot of fun wandering around and seeing diverse artwork and meeting interesting people. There are usually a handful of studios open during the SOWA market on Sundays, and on the first Friday of each month most of the studios open their doors.
