Just down the road from Carmel Beach, equally awesome.

A personal favorite! A beautiful beach that tends to have less people. Try to time it out for sundown, most epic sunsets ever!

A beautiful alternative to Carmel beach, this beach lies at the end of the Carmel Valley River. Choose between the crashing waves and beautiful views of the ocean, or splash and swim in the calm lagoon. Also enjoy large flocks of pelicans and views of Point Lobos. This is our favorite local beach to bring the kids to. The beach is large enough that it rarely feels crowded, although parking can be very tight in the small parking lot. 5 minute drive or a 30 minute 1.5 mile walk.

Ocean on one side, River on the other. Beautiful, beautiful spot (and usually less crowded than Carmel Beach). Great for a quite stroll or nap. Hiking trail along the river. 45 min.
