Covering 800 hectares, Lavaux is the largest vineyard region in Switzerland, and its constructed hillside terraces have been protected by UNESCO since 2007. It takes about 20 minutes on the train from Montreux through Vevey to St Saphorin, which is the first train stop in the terraced vineyards.
