The Kallio church, designed by Lars Sonck and built in 1908–1912, represents the Finnish national romantic school of architecture, as well as a change to Art Nouveau.
Designed by architect Lars Sonck, Kallio Church is one of Helsinki's most famous landmarks. The church was completed at the end of the Unioninkatu-Siltasaarenkatu axis in 1912 and is one of the cleanest representatives of the National Romantic building style in Finland. The seven German bells of the granite tower play the tune of Jean Sibelius at noon and evening.
