Spits-Lucie B&B

SophieRating, 5 stars5 months ago
We spent three nights at four in the cabin of the captain of the houseboat Lucie. This is an experience! A cocoon where it's good to get warm after visiting the Christmas markets of Ghent and Bruges (quickly served by the highway). We enjoyed making breakfast and dinner as the kitchen is very well equipped. The rooms are narrow but that's normal, we're on a boat! In the morning the view of the canal is very pleasant with the sunrise over the water and the frozen grass! The bedding is very comfortable and the shower room functional. We all enjoyed this experience, especially since the hosts are very welcoming and present on the boat. We recommend this accommodation to people who love the unusual with comfort!
A charming outdoor deck area features a wooden floor with seating arrangements, including folding chairs and a table. A sunshade offers protection from the elements, while the scenic view of the Seine River can be appreciated. The surrounding environment is calm and serene.

Classic riverboat Center Paris

Farah And AndyRating, 5 stars2 months ago
The location of this houseboat can’t be beat! Also, for the location and money, you will not find more space available. It worked very well for our family of 5. Be sure to be outside at sunset…walk 20 seconds under the bridge and catch an amazing view of the Eiffel Tower. We dined above deck most occasions and enjoyed the views of the river. The beds were comfortable and the shower was a delightful surprise as well. My 11 year old described it as a sensory overload with water coming at you from so many spouts…ha!. We loved it. Also, Therese and her family are super helpful with advice and help if questions or a need arose. The boat itself was made in 1931 and man, it is gorgeous. This thing would easily cost a fortune to construct today given the superb quality of the wood and craftsmanship. Keep in mind that you are staying on a boat and not in a hotel room and you will love it.

Sailorsroom on a Riverboat

LynneRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Maarten sent excellent directions and instructions, and was professional and friendly throughout our entire stay. Breakfast was plenty and delivered timely each morning - the coffee machine and coffee pods along with crockery and cutlery needed were great. We enjoyed each breakfast relaxing on the peaceful and private deck. The round bed was so comfortable and the bedroom felt cosy and just perfect for our 3-night stay, with a perfectly compact and useful bathroom. A quirky and unique place to stay within walking distance of Ghent town centre. Maarten’s boat and his hospitality is highly recommended.

Magical and Unusual Nights on a Sailboat

ValentineRating, 5 stars21 months ago
We booked this place to go to Nausicaa (15 min. walk), this allowed us to spend an original overnight stay in camping mode with our 2 children. We are close to everything, very nice corner, quiet and secure. The host is very flexible, available and welcoming (thank you again for all the small touches for the children😊). Access to the bathroom is easy and clean (but washed only in the mornings). We were happy to find sheets, kettle and microwave. No coffee machine but bakery next door. Only downsides, the smell of enclosed (we slept with the roof slightly open) the bedding is clean but not very comfortable and faded bench. But Quentin told us they plan to renovate very soon☺️. In short, as described and value. Thank you again for hosting us again and this unusual accommodation.
An intimate cabin area features a cozy orange sleeping space, complemented by wooden paneling and cheerful natural light. A small table and lamp are positioned near a coffee maker, and patterned tiles provide a distinct backdrop, enhancing the nautical ambiance.

Relax on a "real" sailboat .

KatelijneRating, 5 stars2 days ago
A unique and comfortable experience aboard a beautiful sailing yacht! Wim welcomed me warmly and made me feel right at home. In the morning, an extensive and fresh breakfast was ready – a really nice start to the day. Wim is a social and fascinating host, who enjoys sharing stories and knowledge, but also feels perfect when you need peace or privacy. I was fortunate that we were able to sail out – a fun experience that I learned from thanks to Wim's many years of sailing experience. A big plus: you just pay for one person if you're traveling alone. That's rare and honest. In short: an original, warm and educational overnight stay. I will definitely ship again! Thanks 🙏🏻

Unusual night on a boat

VeronicaRating, 5 stars33 months ago
Martin and his wife were perfect hosts, extremely kind, patient and generous with their time and attention. The boat is very quaint and everything is cleverly done to make use of the space - like a caravan on water. The location is beautiful - a real French idyll and it is beside a traffic free bike path along the Seine filled with quintessential charm. From the boat deck you can see herons, ducks, geese, swans and moorhens on the river. It’s very easy to get into central Paris in under an hour by train. A stones throw from the boat there is a French restaurant as well as a traditional (and very friendly) Boulanger and patisserie and on Saturdays and Wednesdays a typical french fresh produce market which I really enjoyed. I had a wonderful trip and highly recommend the boat to anyone looking for a french getaway within reach of Paris.
A spacious outdoor lounge area is showcased, featuring dark wicker furniture with soft white cushions. The view includes the Seine River and the elegant architecture of a nearby bridge. A canopy provides shade, enhancing the comfort of this inviting relaxation space.

Amazing stay! Where else can you sip wine on the deck of a boat and watch the sunset while the Eiffel Tower comes to life at night? Such a cool experience and walkable to everything we wanted to see and do. Quentin was a super host—easy to communicate with and very helpful! Our party of four women loved every minute!

120m² calm and green barge on the banks of Seine

Christine & Jean-LucRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
A real bucolic stay on the Seine arm just after the Bougival lock. The houseboat is actually a very well-appointed and equipped old tugboat. Note the good comfort of the beds, which is not always the case on a boat. We had our 4-year-old grandson with us, but the bridge's amenities make the stay safe for a child, who of course was delighted to live on a "pirate ship". This arm of the Seine has low traffic that does not interfere with sleep at night or tranquility on a deck chair during the day. Shopping and restaurants are easily accessible on foot via the nearby pedestrian walkway. Jérôme is also a host who cares about the well-being of his residents and is very responsive. An experience that we will probably repeat during a future visit to the Paris region.
