Bed and breakfast vacation rentals in The Solent

I had a great stay at Holly Cottage. The bed was extremely comfortable and I had plenty of tea coffee and water in the room every day. The bathroom was across the hall but very warm and cosy to move between rooms. I had everything I needed everyday and a huge choice for breakfast to boot. Thank you Jane for all your help, and making sure I had an enjoyable stay.

June and Robby were so, so nice. We enjoyed our stay and felt right at home. The breakfast was outstanding, and June even packed some food for my kid. The house is old but charming. Everything was super clean. June shared some tips regarding which places to go. Couldn't ask for more for this price!

Ursula, was fantastic. From the point I booked the information she gave me ensured that my arrival and check in was seamless. She warmly welcomed me and I felt completely “at home” during my stay. I will be recommending her home to friends.

We had the loveliest little getaway, everything was perfect from start to finish. The place was clean and cosy, and the hot tub was such a treat, especially with the peaceful setting. Thank you for being such a great host and making everything so smooth and stress-free. We left feeling relaxed and recharged. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a romantic break or a peaceful escape.

Was a lovely hotel. Walkable distance to the shops and near a road full of restaurants and bars. A lovely bar within the hotel and breakfast was included ! :)

Well located, friendly host (the lady). Gian's number does not work and zero response from the messages via airbnb, so we were left unsure and anxious about bag drop off etc. However a lovely lady did call us around midday to say hi and everything is ready for us. Great room, decent breakfast, would stay again. Note, this is a proper bnb not just an empty house which is great, they should make this more clear as it is a big bonus for us.

What a fabulous cottage AND host ! Chris was super friendly , helpful , attentive and full of local recommendations. Thoroughly recommended. Look forward to a return visit soon.

We had a very good stay with Andrew and Janet, who are both great hosts. The room was spacious and comfortable with a lovely en-suite. We particularly noticed how quiet the area was. We also enjoyed chatting over breakfast.

We stayed in the Blue Room with a beautiful Yellow bathroom. The house and gardens are gorgeous and guests have access to rooms downstairs and the whole of the gardens. The breakfast is delicious with plenty of choices. There are lots of good restaurants within a 20 min walk and Ian is very knowledgeable about all the local eating options.

My daughter and I spent two nights at Alison’s charming cottage, nestled in the heart of nature – exactly what we were looking for! We booked just two days before arriving, and Alison was incredibly flexible and accommodating. One of the real highlights was the chance to meet and chat with her – such a lovely person: warm, welcoming, and full of great local tips. A special mention must go to the delicious breakfast! It’s a truly lovely spot for anyone who enjoys unfussy travel in beautiful natural surroundings, with plenty of attractions nearby. Thank you Alison for such a peaceful week-end in the New Forest…

A very special place. Lucy was wonderful, the hayloft is unique yet has every amenity you need (a lovely hot shower and a very comfy bed too). Milford on sea is quiet but we went to a great restaurant and it is close to the busier towns like Lymington. A fab stay!

We had a lovely 4 night stay at 150. B&Bs don't come any better than this, with an extremely comfortable and clean room, and a really tasty breakfast with good choices. 150 is well located on the bus route and a short walk from central Cowes and the ferry. Paula is an excellent host and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be returning.

The place is absolutely beautiful. A very very well run B&B. Everything’s laid out/explained, easy-to-read instructions for different things (wifi, local transport, small on-site bar & snack boxs etc). The breakfast is fantastic, rooms are incredibly clean (& modern) and overall a very well run establishment.

Lovely room with access to the garden with table & Chairs outside. Had separate shower room and a small area with a mini fridge and workspace which was excellent for our needs. Delicious cereal with fruit, croissants and yoghurts for breakfast which was perfect and tea & coffee. Angela was extremely friendly and helpful showing us the quickest walking route through to the station. Would definitely stay with Angela again in the future.

Most importantly - super friendly, felt very welcome and had some great conversations while staying. Incredibly responsive via message and clear instructions on getting in. Superb location - all the buses run through Newport and the place is about a 7-11 minute walk to the bus station meaning it’s easy to get back if you’ve wandered to another part of the island. Breakfast was a lovely offering and the dog was super cute!

We had a delightful stay with Clive and Angie. They are very welcoming guests. The room with en suite was perfect for our needs, and made for an affordable weekend visiting the New Forest and Bournemouth. The room was bright and spotlessly clean, with some thoughtful touches. We also enjoyed cereals, fresh fruit, toast and preserves, fresh juice and a good pot of tea for our breakfast. Home from home! The recommendation to visit Friars Cliff on our way home was perfect. Thank you for welcoming us into your home. We would love to visit again.

An excellent stay and beautiful house and location. Harriet and Jessica were a pleasure to deal with and made our trip very straightforward and comfortable. The views from our bedroom were stunning.

My second time staying with Brian and hopefully not my last! Rooms are clean and tidy, with everything you need. Brian also provided breakfast and tea/coffee, which was very welcome.

Perfect place for overnight stay on way back to gatwick. Very clean, quiet and comfortable. Continental brekky with fresh fruit hit the spot. Claire was prompt with messages and greeted us on arrival. The nearby pub, recommended by Claire, served quality meals. Highly recommend Claires place.

Marysa was a lovely, responsive host who sent lots of detailed instructions. She helped me quickly with any questions I had and she made me feel right at home. The room was lovely and comfortable, the bathroom was beautiful, light and bright and the house just smelt gorgeous. Overall I loved my stay. Thank you so much Marysa :-)

We had a great time in Madeleine’s place! I would highly recommend it and we would like to go back there again. The room has an amazing sea view, you can watch the sea from your bed. The breakfast was amazing. It was very nice to talk to Madeleine and she was very helpful. Thank you for your hospitality Madeleine!

Geraldine and her husband were lovely hosts for a recent stay when attending a wedding nearby. Although we had a small issue with finding the accommodation, this was quickly resolved and Geraldine also put a delicious breakfast spread on the next morning, which was delicious and much appreciated. We enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return.
