Boutique hotel vacation rentals in Tennessee River

Cannot say enough good things about this stay! We told them at check in that we were celebrating our anniversary of getting engaged in Dahlonega last year and they called two minutes later to upgrade us to an available private suite with the most incredible view of the mountains. The staff was incredible and it was the most dreamy stay. All other amenities were fantastic too! Thank you and we will be coming back and telling all our friends:)

The entire staff at Barefoot hills provided amazing hospitality throughout our stay. From the moment we arrived they ensured our check-in was a smooth transition providing a video of how to access the cabin. A wagon and umbrella were provided to assist carrying our luggage due to the bad weather we encountered. The cabin, rooms, and bathrooms were very clean. I especially love the accommodations provided due to my severe health issues. The views from the two-bedroom cabin are amazing. Dahlonega is a beautiful town and the people are amazing. I hope to return again with my family in the near future. Thank you for sharing this wonderful place with us!

This place is very nice and quiet and close to nearby restaurants/shops. It's very cozy and have that country/ log cabin feel. The host Dan was extra helpful and went above and beyond to accommodate us and there was no problem with late check-in, in case you got in some kinda of traffic jam, etc. He and his wife offered to help with anything they could. Wonderful southern hospitality. We wished we stayed longer. My family loved that place and we plan to rent it again in the future. AA+ P.S.We only went to eat at the "Waffle King" place near by and the folks there were very sweet and welcoming too. Good vibes all around!

Molly was an amazing Host! She was very responsive and helpful with anything that we needed! Best Host we have had with a stay. The home was very comfortable. It was very clean. House is in a great location. Looking forward to our next stay!

Overall a great place to stay. The cabin was clean and cute while check in was a breeze. The reception was nice and we had no issues throughout our stay. Our dog loved the area too, although we couldn’t find the small trail around the property. Would stay again!

Glad I finally got to stay here! Much-needed quick getaway, and the eco-cabin was perfect. The sound of the rain on the metal roof was the icing on the cake. :)

This was our second time staying at Barefoot Hills and certainly will not be the last. This hidden gem is the perfect home base for a weekend in the North Georgia mountains, and we couldn’t recommend it enough!

Quaint old time hotel in a nice historic building. Private and quiet space which was great for my one night stay needs and was also nicely located for my purposes.

Loved The Heritage room! 10/10 would recommend! Hope to stay there again soon!

“Wow—what an incredibly serene and welcoming location! We absolutely loved the cozy fire pit, the peaceful riverfront view just steps from our back door, and the overall sense of safety and tranquility. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, making it easy to relax and unwind. And having a charming coffee shop nearby was the perfect touch. Everything about our stay was thoughtfully curated for rest and refreshment. We’ll definitely be returning to the Blue Heron—again and again!”

The pictures do not do this place justice! So spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. One of a kind experience for sure. Definitely recommend this place.

My husband & I stayed here for our 5 year anniversary & we loved it! It was so super nice, as was Challie! The room was so clean, tasteful, & calming. We loved the patio with the fire pit and there were lights surrounding it, which made for an amazing atmosphere. We we be back, maybe Christmas, we hear it is Awesome!

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was incredibly spacious and new. It was tastefully decorated, with a modern yet cozy vibe. One of my favorite features was the vintage library, complete with a record player and a wide selection of games — perfect for winding down after a day out. The attention to detail was impressive, and I especially loved the Dyson hairdryer, which was a nice touch and made getting ready a breeze. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and relaxing stay.

This was our fourth time staying at Blue Heron Inn and as always the place was wonderful! We absolutely love this “no frills” inn. It offers all the peace and quiet you could want, and the location is absolutely perfect if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy parts of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park (entrance is only a few miles away). The inn sits right above the Little River and there’s plenty of outdoor seating to sit and watch the river babble and forget about the world. Our room was clean and had all the amenities you need in a hotel-type room (towels, Keurig, clean linens). There is also some amazing breakfast provided at the Towns End Coffee Shop on-premises (perhaps my favorite part). This trip we had some really bad weather (high winds and tornado warnings). Our host messaged us to let us know it was coming and offered assistance to us in the event of an emergency. It was greatly appreciated! We already can’t wait for our fifth stay!

Unfortunately I had an incident that prevented me front staying but I wanted to give feedback about the wonderful response I got from the host. First I want to highlight that they were incredibly prompt, which is very important in these scenarios where you’re so close to check-in. Most importantly however they were beyond empathetic and went out of their way for me. I will surely stay here the next time I’m in the area!
