This was an excellent stay! Everything as described. Secluded enough to enjoy peace & quite, but close enough to everything. We spent 10 days in California at 3 different Airbnb's. This one was the best! Single floor living and well appointed amenities. Host is proactive and responsive. We enjoyed the games provided. A very comfortable stay!

Beautiful 2-bedroom home with stunning views

Bree KRating, 5 stars1 day ago
This serene hilltop location is everything the listing promises. Tucked away in seclusion, it’s the kind of place where you can actually exhale. The view from the deck is breathtaking — rolling hills, vines, and the kind of quiet that’s hard to come by these days. Birds wake you up chirping in the morning, no traffic. Inside, the home is cozy, perfect for a peaceful solo retreat or a relaxing weekend for two. Out a few miles are several boutique locations — and We texted for in and provides so we could take long walks with our pup under the trees. Waking up to the sound of birds and rustling leaves, watching the fog burn off from the valley below — it’s one of those stays that makes you forget to check your phone. Highly recommend if you’re craving calm, comfort, and a little wine country magic

Heated Pool to 80° Included *Wine Country Views

NicoleRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had a great stay at this home. The grounds, views, and backyard were all amazing. We loved having a heated pool, especially having stayed at other homes in Temecula where the pool was so freezing we wouldn't want to use it. Irina was very communicative and flexible when we wanted to bring our dog last minute, and adjusted our rate so that we could pay the pet fee and bring her. The beds are firm fyi, which isn't my preference, but many people like that. I think some of the furniture could need updates in the future, but overall this is a great option that we would consider returning to.

Tally is a phenomenal host. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay and will return again in the future. When we arrived, the suite was spotless and even stocked with waters and snacks. Totally unexpected and a great surprise. Bed was very comfortable with super soft sheets, quick hot water and top notch amenities. Everything worked well and she gave us some amazing recommendations. She even mailed us some belongings that were left behind.

Private 4BR in Temecula Wine Country w/ Views

Cebrina JaneRating, 5 stars1 week ago
I have nothing bad to say about this Airbnb. The host was exceptional. Communication was great. Instructions were clear. The host was quick in responses. The place is beautiful! It was clean. We didn’t have to go out and buy anything. For example, there were sponge, dish soap, and dishwasher pods. The stay came with everything you would need (besides food and water, of course). The views were great. Our family had a great time. It was easy-going, welcoming and a pleasure to stay.

Caballos Manor - Beautiful Wine Country View Home

KathyRating, 5 stars1 month ago
This place was beautiful!! It was close to the wineries and old town. We loved hanging by the pool and enjoying all the various outside patios. The ability to pick fruit and enjoy it was a beautiful bonus! The host was super responsive and friendly. The only thing was that there is a secret room where the bookcase doubles as a door. It was tough to get in and out. Our friend stepped out and got hurt while trying to get out of the room into the living room. So please be careful. Other than that we had a great time!

Wine Country Heaven Surrounded by Vineyards!!

GabrielleRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Our family had an AMAZING time here! We truly could not have found a better spot. The backyard is incredible, full of so much charm and had beautiful views! The pool is wonderful and so refreshing (we opted to heat it and glad we did as it was ideal for swimming in the morning and evenings as well). There is also a covered cabana area with chairs and a fireplace - this was a great place to duck out of the heat for a bit, to chat and play cards and relax. They even have a fun game room where my kids played pool (you can also play ping pong). The bar/grill area is pretty big with additional seating and also has a tv (which my husband loved so he could grill and watch golf ;) This place had it all! We truly had a fantastic time here and Justin was amazing as well - he was super responsive and answered all of our questions very quickly. Great host, great place - it was perfect! We had an awesome time and would love to come back again soon!

Sky High Winery Villa at Longshadow Ranch Winery

AngelRating, 5 stars1 week ago
John’s place was amazing. We had 3 generations attending a wedding in the area and the house accommodated us perfectly. Our 87 year old was able to navigate the one-story home and grounds with ease. And the sitting room within the master suite was a perfect space to set up the bedding for our 3 year old grandchild. The house is well equipped with necessities, all in good repair, and extremely comfortable for our family of 7 adults and 1 child. We spent a lot of time at the pool which was large and clean. Gorgeous view of the vineyard and tranquil environment. Our host was very responsive to every question and request. He took extremely good care of us. I will recommend this home to our friends and family, and will return with our family again. Loved it!

Nicole is the one of the friendliest hostesses! She left us a handwritten greeting card, a lost art in today's age, welcoming my guests and me along with a yummy bottle of wine to kick off our weekend. Her property is beautiful, serene with a great view. Even before arriving, Nicole provided detailed map directions in anticipation of online directions potentially being misleading. My guests and I were quite impressed with how the house is decorated... felt very homey. We had everything we needed for our stay. Thanks, Nicole!!!

Your guide to Temecula

Welcome to Temecula

Once a sedate ranching town — Temecula didn’t get its first traffic light until 1984 — this inland city between Los Angeles and San Diego is now celebrated as Southern California’s wine country. The region’s granite soil, morning mists, warm days, and cool nights make it an ideal spot for cultivating wine grapes. Fifty wineries, many of them family-owned, call Temecula home. In the middle of it all is Temecula’s historic center, Old Town. Packed with Western charm, this shopping corridor lined with wooden sidewalks is home to several historic buildings such as a brick-fronted mercantile built in 1890 (now home to a community theater) and a circa-1914 bank building, now a restaurant. If wine tasting and shopping aren’t enough to satiate your needs, Temecula is also home to several world-class golf courses.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Temecula

A great wine climate means dependably balmy weather year round. Summer is hot but not scorching, fall and winter are cool but rarely freezing, and spring is mild. Nights tend to be cool year round. You’re likely to find a festival to attend no matter what time of year you stay in one of Temecula’s vacation rentals, but one of the biggest is the Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival in June, during which close to 50 hot-air balloons rise and descend above the wine fields during a three-day fete.

Top things to do in Temecula

Temecula Valley Museum

Drink in some local history at this little museum in Old Town. Ranching and farming artifacts are on display next to exhibits chronicling the history of the stagecoach and railroad lines that once sliced through Temecula. One of its more unusual displays is a recreation of the office of mystery author Erle Stanley Gardner, who lived in Temecula from 1937 until his death in 1970.

Ricardo Breceda Garden of Sculptures

Located on a dirt lot between two businesses on 6th Street in Old Town is a menagerie of metal creatures, including a serpentine dragon, a leaping ram, and an undulating octopus. These larger-than-life animals are the creations of the cowboy boot salesman turned sculptor. Fans have commissioned him to create massive installations, such as a 350-foot sea serpent on a privately owned estate in Borrego Springs. You can also schedule private viewings at the artist’s gallery in nearby Aguanga.

Palomar Observatory

This observatory operated by the California Institute of Technology is housed within an Art Deco dome atop the Palomar Mountains. Located about an hour from Temecula, it’s worth the trip to get a look at the massive 200-inch Hale Telescope, one of the world’s largest. The observatory is open seasonally, and closes occasionally due to weather, so check ahead for open hours and to see if guided tours are being offered.
