River House on the James

AngelaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
The house was amazing with lots of room and a beautiful view of James River. We saw lots of wildlife like eagles, osprey, rabbits, lizards, deer etc. It is in a great location away from everything and a short drive to ride the ferry to Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown. We wanted to enjoyed all of the historical places since all of my kids love history. One day was supposed to be rainy so we stayed in the Surry area and visited Bacon’s Castle and Smith’s Fort. Both are very interesting places to visit and I highly recommend them. It was my husband and me with our 5 grown up children all ranging in ages of 18 to 31. All of us wanted to visit all the historical spots and even did a Civil War Ghost tour that my youngest son really enjoyed. Everything was great. Coming back to the house was so relaxing either by the tv or making s’mores by the fire pit. The beds are comfy and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. This is a perfect getaway and I hope to stay here more in the future.
A charming cottage exterior features light-colored siding with teal accents. Flowerbeds filled with pink hydrangeas frame the entrance, and a large tree provides shade. The property showcases a welcoming atmosphere with a manicured lawn and small decorative elements near the entrance.

James River Beach Cottage - Private Beach & Pier!

MicheleRating, 5 stars21 months ago
Deena was extremely helpful from the start. I was looking between 2 properties however since Deena was the first person to email me information of the area the history on the home and ideas for things to do for the kids I booked with her. When we got to the cottage we easily checked in had a ton of amenities and the cottage was clean spotless clean. We really enjoyed our stay with Deena and we look forward to another a stay at her cottage.

Busch Gardens-River View-fire table-Cornhole

Sooo much better than a hotel. We were in the area for a graduation. Two parents, two godparents, five children, six grandchildren, and one girlfriend. All coming and going eating and sleeping at different times. The home was large enough to accommodate all of us after the graduation for a celebratory meal. Beautiful views of the James river. Thanks Amanda.

Analog Private Beach on 10 Acres

CalebRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Our family had a wonderful time at Jeffrey’s place. The home is beautifully and thoughtfully decorated, and had everything we needed (including lots of kids books and toys). My children loved the private beach (it’s amazing) and exploring the property. We found fun shells, and even a few shark teeth. We daytripped to Jamestown and Williamsburg (10 min to the ferry, 20 min to get across) and had a wonderful time at both places. My kids had a blast riding the ferry (getting out and watching from the upper deck is a must). Definitely plan to get groceries ahead of time - it’s pretty remote, in a good way. Lots of fun wild life to spot - bald eagles, turkey, deer, even a skunk! Fun was had by all, we would stay again.

Riverfront across from Jamestown and Williamsburg

MarcRating, 5 stars9 months ago
Elli & Brent’s place on the James River was a beautiful spot for our family vacation. Our arrival was wonderful as our hosts had left us a cute note and treats to enjoy. The house had plenty of room for our group of 6, especially with the outdoor space/dock and the home theater, which might have been the kids favorite room. The property was conveniently just a quarter mile away from the ferry so Jamestown/Yorktown/Willliamsburg/Busch Gardens were easily accessible. Really an excellent place from which to visit the triangle and get some nice rest and relaxation in between. Thanks guys for such a lovely visit.

Quiet Villa with Access to Amazing Amenities

LauraRating, 5 stars1 month ago
It was a quiet and lovely space with a ton of amenities (pool, mini golf) and close to downtown Williamsburg and local and state parks. The kitchen was great! Some of the other appliances inside were less quiet (vacuum, washing machine, dryer), but it was nice to have the appliances!
An upper-level bedroom is displayed, featuring a full bed with a light quilt and decorative pillows. A cozy armchair is placed nearby on a soft area rug. Natural light enters through a window, illuminating the warm wood flooring. The slanted ceiling adds architectural interest.

Blue House On The Beach

AndrewRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Our family of 6 loved staying at Maria’s place! Plenty of comfortable beds (3 queens in separate rooms downstairs, and 1 queen suite upstairs with additional 2 twins in another room), tons of linens, a new stove, and a good air conditioner. LOVED eating breakfast on the screened porch and people watching the Jamestown ferry out front. We prefer older, charming homes with character over cookie-cutter generic condos, and this was perfect! Great launching place for Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, Norfolk, and you can literally see Jamestown across the River from the porch. The ferry is free, 24 hrs, and very efficient. We never worried about catching it, always room. Maria is a wonderful person, very responsive and caring. There’s a very nice beach just off the ferry on the Jamestown side for swimming and picnics, $7 to park (but free after 5pm!) Surry, VA is just 5 min away with a DG, cheaper gas, and good Mexican, Italian, and Chinese restaurants. All you need! We already plan to return!

River Edge Cottage

Charming cottage in a rural setting, complete with a horse, two dogs, and a barn cat who are friendly but give you your space. Right across from a fun tavern with live entertainment and modest walk to a public park and the James River, this weekend and location could not have been more perfect.
