Monthly Rentals in Spectacle Island

Awesome location for the Gouldsboro/Winterharbor area. Plenty of room inside with all the creature comforts and wonderful area outside. Pickled wrinkle right in walking distance along with ice cream right next door. Would stay here again.

We had a great stay at the bungalow! Mary is an excellent host and we felt right at home in the house. It's in a great location, just a few minutes away from the Schoodic Point portion of Acadia and about an hour's drive to Mt. Desert/Bar Harbor (we made this drive several times and didn't mind it at all as it's quite scenic). You can easily walk to the cafe in town for breakfast or lunch and the grocery store has a very good selection for such a small place. The neighborhood itself was very quiet, I am pretty much the world's lightest sleeper and did not have any issues sleeping through the night here! We were also able to see quite a bit of wildlife from the front porch including deer, turkeys, and a porcupine. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking and there were also coloring books, etc. for children, which was a nice touch! Overall, we had a great stay and thoroughly enjoyed our first trip to Maine. We hope to be back soon!

We enjoyed our stay so much! The house had everything we needed… and I mean EVERYTHING. Plenty of cookware, dishes, linens. There were even extra toiletries in case we forgot anything! The bed was comfortable, the porch was peaceful. Spotless and well organized. The lobsters were such a great experience and the instructions were so simple. I would have never thought I could cook lobster but it turned out great! Such a cool place. Lots around the area to explore. We spent a day on the Schoodic Peninsula and I wish we would have more time to spend. The ferry from winter harbor to bar harbor was SO fun! Great hosts! We had plenty of privacy but also appreciated Catherine checking in to make sure we were settled. It’s a beautiful area. There was also a super detailed guidebook and maps, which was extremely helpful and thoughtful.

JC’s Place was clean, cozy, and ideally located for exploring Acadia and Bar Harbor. Quiet, comfortable, and surrounded by nature—it was the perfect place to relax after a day of hiking. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Mount Desert Island!
