Cottage vacation rentals in South Shore

My husband and I had an absolutely wonderful time. The cabin is very private and yet only a five minute drive to the town of Alma and some great restaurants (we highly recommend the Muddy Rudder). Great hiking trails nearby in the national park as well. It was paradise. Completely surrounded by trees and the sounds of all the little birds. The cabin has absolutely everything you would need and more and was exceptionally clean and comfortable. We loved the hot tub. Would highly recommend the cabin.

Staying at ocean view house hosted by Etienne was truly amazing experience. The ocean view was even more spectacular in person than in the pictures,we spent hours on the patio enjoying the amazing sunsets and sunrises . The house was spotless clean and our hosts were incredibly welcoming and helpful.They were always very quick to respond to our questions. We highly recommend this place for anyone looking for enjoyable and relaxing vacation. We would definitely book again!

We both needed to relax and unwind and that’s exactly what we did. This spot is perfect. The cottage is beautiful. We’ve been to quite a bit of Airbnb’s and I have to say this one was the cleanest we’ve ever been too. I highly recommend it. We are already talking of going back. Marco and Savannah are great hosts.

the cottage was perfect. clean and comfortable. the area and views were beautiful. the hot tub was excellent. The hosts were superb. They were very proactive, checking to see if we arrived and if we needed anything. the instructions for everything were in a binder and very clear and easy to understand. we are already talking about returning next year.

What a beautiful place to wake up in! The views are so peaceful. The stars at night seen while lying in the hammock on the top deck were beautiful ! Devon’s attention to detail in making Steel Away is evident throughout.❤️ This is a very comfortable place to stay, and I look forward to the opportunity of returning. I don’t want to forget to mention a fabulous hot tub!

Herring Hole was a beautiful choice! You can’t go wrong! From spacious surroundings, to cozy decor and an inviting deck overlooking the bay, to a genuine experience of a small coastal fishing village, this place checked all the boxes!! It’s about a 25 minute drive to Halifax but the scenery is beautiful so time travels by quickly! We would book this place again without any further thought! Kim even had freshly ground coffee available for our morning coffees on the deck!

We loved staying at Kim's place with our two dogs. It is adorable and compact, but with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The location cannot be beat, - right at the heart of the working fishing marina and the Fundy tides, walkable to sea caves at low tide, historic homes, the cutest shops, covered bridges and more - a postcard shot in every direction. The only slight downside of the location is some noisy traffic such as motorcycles going past during the day, but it dies down in early evening to be quite peaceful. Kim was a responsive and helpful host, and we would absolutely be back again. St. Martins was the perfect stop on our vacation, and also makes a good base for the Fundy Trail. And this cottage is a prime location for experiencing all of it!

We had a wonderful getaway at Doreen’s. The cottage was just as beautiful and cozy as depicted and the setting is even prettier! We walked the dog on the beach, read in the screened porch and really relaxed. Doreen and Eric were fabulous hosts - responsive, but very respectful of our privacy. We’d definitely stay here again!

One of the best, probably the very best, Airbnb we stayed in. -Fantastic location and views -Nicely furnished -The best equipped place we've ever stayed in (aside from the lack of laundry facilities which we did not need). The kitchen was especially impressive in this regard. -One of the few hosts who shares our view (we are hosts ourselves) that food does not all have to be thrown away after each guest so there were lots of staples and such in the kitchen. -Janette as a pleasure to communicate with and responded almost immediately. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately, due to health circumstances, we were unable to stay at Shelly’s place. However, communication with Shelly was excellent, she is very compassionate and understanding, and I look forward to staying at her place in the future.

Kristine’s property is the perfect location for a quiet getaway. It has amazing ocean views from the front deck and water access from the dock at the end of the driveway. The house is cozy and has every amenity you need. Spacious living areas and bedrooms that any family or group would enjoy. We had plenty of space for our group of nine. Kristine is a wonderful host. We will definitely stay here again.

Wonderful place to relax and watch the Fundy tides without crowds and the need to time trips to fully experience both low and high tides. The cottage is comfortable and easy to get to, close to town and a grocery store. Spent 2 nights there with our small dogs and we had everything we needed. Enjoyed our stay!

We had an awesome stay — it is a beautiful home, very clean, with everything you need for the stay. It is a beautiful private location on a lake, very peaceful and relaxing. Danny and Lynn were super responsive to all my messages, and everything was as stated in the listing. Highly recommend!

Jennie's place was fantastic! it was well stocked, very clean, beautiful and really felt like a retreat. we don't often return to the same rental but would definitely come back again! recommend for a family get away or a group of friends.

Perfect escape, lake access, great outdoor space and quick drive to local towns and beaches. We hope to return!

Very well planned out two story cottage with all the amenities. Property is ocean facing with incredible views and easy access to the beach at low tide. Depending on the time of year it can be quite blustery - pack a sweater and you are all good. You’re a 15 minute walk into Hall’s Harbour and the best lobster dinner for miles. Sonia was very responsive.

A wonderful stay in one of our favourite parts of the province. The place was clean and tidy, equipped with everything you'll need and the beds were all very comfortable - my son was a big fan of the bunk bed. It was also a pleasant surprise for my son to a finda selection of games and kids books, which he made good use of in quieter times. Silka is also quick to respond to any questions you might have, though we had little need of that as all information we needed to enjoy our stay was provided. The location is fantastic. You could easily kill the whole day just hanging out in the back yard, combing the beach, but you're also within striking distance of numerous sandy beaches and coastal communities, so there's plenty of ways to fill your days.

Nancy and Darren’s place was a slice of paradise. Our 2 big dogs, my husband and myself loved our time at the Red Door Barn. We started our mornings at Louis Head beach, located a short 5 minutes car ride. We had the beach for ourselves and our dogs loved playing fetch on the beautiful stretch of sand. The Red Door Barn is impeccable and Nancy thought of every little detail. It’s beautifully decorated. Extremely clean. And just perfect. We loved the extra dog friendly touches such as the doggie treats, the water bowl, the blankets and the big basket near the door full of little surprises. The kitchen is fully equipped. We cooked Lobster from the Wharf several times during our 12 nights stay. I highly recommend staying at The Red Door Barn. We can’t wait to come back.

Our stay at Seafarers Hideaway was a truly memorable experience. The property has one of the most beautiful views we have ever encountered and it is extremely well appointed. They have thought of everything guests will need to have an enjoyable stay. The kitchen and pantry are very well stocked as well as the bathroom. We absolutely loved the fireplace and enjoyed most evenings by the fire. When weather permitted we enjoyed the outdoor fire area and used the bbq most nights. The muskoka chairs are perfectly situated on various parts of the property and we enjoyed looking at Peggy’s Cove with the binoculars provided. We would highly recommend this property as it is an hours drive to Halifax, Lunenberg and Peggy’s Cove, with much of the drive along the ocean. We would love to return someday and treasure our first experience in Nova Scotia at Seafarers Hideaway. Krista and Ken
