We had a great time at Eija's place. It's as nice as the pictures suggest and a good starting place for exploring northern Finland. As a general tip, I'd recommend traveling by car, then you can easily reach several national parks and other sights in the area, as well as Rovaniemi. The area is calm, the frozen lake and snowy scenery make for a serene retreat. Eija was always quick to respond, helpful and friendly. Definitely recommended!

My family of 2 adults and 2 young boys stayed here for 5 nights. The place was spectacular, with the wrap around glass windows giving an uninterrupted view of the pristine surroundings. The place was perfect for aurora viewing without tours - we could just look out the window at the sky or step out the door and watch the light show - which was ideal with young kids. The 2 dogs on the property are absolutely adorable and came by everyday to say good morning and get hugs. The kids also loved sledding down from by the front door and onto the frozen river by the property. The kitchenette was sufficient for our stay. Suvi and Janne were welcoming hosts and made our stay very comfortable. We had a memorable trip and hope to visit again.

We enjoyed our stay, and there was everything we could expect from a cabin experience. We loved the sauna and the chance to have a dip in the lake. There was almost everything we needed, except for the vine bottle opener, which the owner kindly offered to bring it to us almost straight away. Beautiful cabin by the lake we can definitely recommend!

The host was exceptionally warm and welcoming. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a personally prepared herbal tea and a thorough introduction to all the house’s facilities, both inside and out. He also shared many helpful and insightful tips for exploring the local area. Beautiful cottage for family holidays. Very easy to access and at the same time alone in the forest. Beautiful walks directly on foot. We enjoyed the sauna and the northern lights visible from the garden if the weather is clear:)
