Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Smith Mountain Lake

We had a great weekend at the house! The host was very friendly and very quick to respond, and provided helpful instructions. The house was beautiful, new, clean, well stocked. There were plenty of community amenities, although we were bummed all tennis courts were closed due to repaving. With so many courts available it would have been nice to work on half while other half was open to use, then switch. But that was totally out of the owner's control so I didn't count that against it. Overall a great house, although we missed the proximity and direct access to the lake we had during our previous states at SML. But overall, if that's not something very important to you, you cannot go wrong with this host and house.

More than exceeded our expectations! Even more beautiful than the pictures! We wish we had found this place when our first of 3 went to Liberty University, rather than for the graduation of our youngest. Our stay was too short to fully enjoy all the fun things to do ie on the lake and campfire. We felt like we could spread out with the four different patios/ porches, yet we could all come together and spend time in the extra large family room. Great place to walk - absolutely gorgeous! This place is amazing!!

We had a wonderful stay at this Smith Mountain Lake Airbnb for our grandmother’s 90th birthday celebration. The hosts were incredibly flexible, accommodating our group’s needs with ease. The large dock was a highlight, where we spent most of our time when not out boating, creating cherished memories. While some aspects of the property showed signs of age, the value for the price made these minor issues easy to overlook. Highly recommend for a relaxing lake getaway!

I must say this was my first experience with ever staying in a Airbnb and wanted a change from a hotel and very glad we decided to give this a try. Tammy was an absolutely awesome host very responsive and a very nice lady. The description matches everything. Very beautiful property and very clean.

The house was absolutely perfect. There was plenty to do in the house, the views were amazing and the whole process was easy. absolutely loved it and plan to return to this listing again.

Shady Oaks is located in a quaint development right on the water. It's heavily wooded with lots of shade. The neighborhood is generally quiet and there is a private road that loops down and back. The house is well maintained and features lots of outdoor space to enjoy your stay. Water access is via the dock which also features an elevated deck above the dock. The kids and I spent most of our time at the dock--enjoying the cove by either fishing or kayaking (2 come with the rental). Relaxing on the deck was also great in the evening. We brought our puppy since dogs are allowed (extra $25 per day upto 2 dogs). It was nice to have an enclosed deck off the main level for our puppy to enjoy with us. The beds were very firm memory foam, but comfy. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, utensil, gadgets, spices, and oils. The location is convenient to the state park (a must), Virginia Dare boat tour, restaurants, and shopping. Overall a good 3-day weekend stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was great to be able to go outside and be right in the water and the multiple decks offered great views!

This was an exceptional experience for my husband and I. Michelle was wonderful, informative and kind. We had not one issue the 3 nights we stayed. The view is amazing and this condo has everything you need to cook with, make coffee, and more. Super grateful for this experience at smith mountain Lake.

Our stay at Lisa’s home was wonderful. Very clean and the view of the lake from the balcony is beautiful. Check in was easy and Lisa was very responsive.

Traci and manager Sophia were super responsive to requests and texts. The place was very clean and as advertised. The location is walkable to the marina and a quick drive to other restaurants, state park, and grocery. We would definitely book again.

The description/pictures totally matched what you got. What you don’t see visually from pictures but experience is a very clean apartment (in a beautiful neighborhood) along with little details such as noise makers, extra toiletries for emergencies (in case you forgot to bring like a toothbrush, etc) These little touches show that the host cares about you having a comfortable stay. I had the absolute pleasure of staying at Susan and Tom’s Airbnb for over a year, and I can confidently say this has been the best Airbnb experience I’ve ever had. From day one, they welcomed me with warmth and kindness, creating a true home away from home. Susan is an incredible host and a fantastic cook—her muffins, scones, and soups are absolutely delicious and something I’ll always remember fondly. She frequently invited me for dinners that were not only delicious but filled with wonderful conversations and laughter. Tom is equally wonderful—he’s someone I genuinely enjoyed spending time with. We had countless engaging chats, and his company was always thoughtful, interesting, and uplifting. He’s truly great to be around and made my stay all the more enjoyable. More than just hosts, Susan and Tom became like family. If you’re considering a stay here, don’t hesitate—this is a rare gem of a place with two of the most wonderful hosts you could ever meet.
