This is a lovely retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We had a wonderful time there, and it felt just like home. The neighborhood is peaceful, and there’s a cute little 7-11 right next door that meets almost all your daily needs. We visited during the Dragon Boat Festival and were fortunate to receive local food from the owner, who was friendly, warm, and kind. Even though we don’t speak Chinese, her hospitality showed that kindness transcends language and culture, and is fundamental to human beings. We would gladly return to this place to experience whatever we missed this time. We wish the lady excellent health and all the best to all the hosts.

Only 2 bed dorms make it really quiet hostel, I recommend staying here for a day trip to alishan forest

Bella’s place is an old Taiwanese house and is really beautiful. She has decorated it nicely with lots of plants. Bella was very friendly and hospitable, offering me tea and fruit. She speaks good English. There were a lot of mosquitoes around, but there is a mosquito net for the bed. It is a quiet location and the only sounds at night were birds and insects. It was a very welcome change from noisy cities. Note that the map on Airbnb shows the location correctly (though not in enough detail to actually find it), but when I clicked the link to open the location in Google Maps, it took me to the wrong location, a couple of miles away in the middle of nowhere.

The location was perfect - 3min by foot from the train/bus station and near good restaurants. Overall, the room was clean and we slept very well. The staff speak english & the breakfast was great ! They even let us store our luggages for 3 days when we went to Alishan - we really appreciate that :-) The only small negative thing was the wifi connexion that was not smooth at all in the room - but in other parts it works well.
