Kate Ann's Cottage, a beautifully restored home

PbRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Castletownshend is a beautiful place to stay to get away from everyday hustle & bustle. It is within 20-30mins of so many lovely places - Baltimore [ferries to Sherkin & Cape Clear] Schull, Toe Head Cliff Walk, Lough Hyne, Rineen Woods, Glandore, Rosscarbery. Maura's cottage is beautifully renovated & has the benefit of a garden, allowing for outdoor dining when the weather permits! Maura & Tim are wonderful hosts, provide clear detailed instructions to access the cottage & are very responsive to any queries. Mary Ann's Pub/Restaurant is just down the road from the cottage & serves excellent food. Drishane House at the top of the village has beautiful gardens & an interesting museum to visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kate Ann's Cottage & exploring the local area in West Cork.

The place was ideal for our trip away, it was a short drive to Skibbereen and a good base for the surrounding areas. Thoughtful touches, like milk, bread and butter was a nice and unexpected gesture.

Delighted when we arrived to find that everything exceeded our expectations. House is easy to find, in a fabulous location with pubs, restaurants and shop minutes away. The house is lovely. Very spacious and spotless with everything you need for a “home from home” stay. Excellent base for travelling around the area. We very much enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again. Highly recommend this property.

We picked Peter’s apartment as it was the closest to where we needed to be for the Fri and Saturday evenings and I’m so glad we found this little gem of a place! It was perfect - quiet, secluded and the apartment was beautifully equipped with everything we needed - and more! The welcome pack was very welcome!! It was an amazing array of snacks, fruit, cereal, tea, coffee and drinks. Peter was so welcoming and friendly. We are already planning our stay next year….. Thank you so much Peter

Millie's Cottage

Brilliant place to stay. Could not recommend this place more. Such a nice peaceful part of cork that’s not too far from a big town and the many attractions around west cork. Lisa couldn’t do more to help. We arrive and the fire was lit, milk and all in the fridge for us. We had such a lovely welcome and such a pleasant stay. Any issue, one text and it was sorted no bother. 10/10 definitely would stay again.

We had a great stay in Michael’s house. The house was lovely and very well equipped. In particular, the closed in garden was perfect for our grandchildren and also so convenient to the village. We loved West Cork.
