At approximately 5200 feet above sea level, the Lake Atitlan area enjoys year-round spring-like weather (70s to low 80s during the day and 60s at night). Although temperatures remain relatively constant throughout the year the weather is marked by two distinctive seasons: the rainy season (May to October) and the dry season (November to April). During the rainy season the mountains and volcanoes surrounding the lake are verdant green. The mornings are generally crystal clear, while the afternoons bring spectacular showers that are a sight to behold as they roll in over the lake. During the dry season it is rare to receive any precipitation at all. La Casa Colibri has five luxurious guest rooms each with en-suite bath. Four rooms have spacious balconies overlooking the lake. Two rooms have deep soak tubs with separate showers.

This place has to be by far my most favorite spot I’ve traveled to out of over seven countries. The pictures truly do not do the Airbnb justice or reviews. The whole estate is beautiful with amazing greenery and animals, such as birds guard dogs in a gated area. The hot tub was amazing, and the location was perfect to get between the towns. You are in a gated Airbnb if safety is a concern for you and Alfonso the housekeeper is always tentative and responsive for any given need. The house was very clean as well and came with water provided. If I can rate this Airbnb over at 10, I would.

It was a brilliant stay with everything we needed and great communication. The plunge pool, sauna and net on the deck were big winners. Just do be advised since photos have been taken there is a bit of growth of plants around the property and a new house built next door. Also Nicolas does live on the property out the back who takes care, he is lovely and stays out of the way completely but just a heads up. Had everything we needed but would advise bringing food to cook as it is a bit out of town so having some meals at the place is recommended and a must with the view. Definitely wake up early to watch the stunning sun rises. Thanks for the stay

Nuestra estadía en cabaña Zürich fue amena, cómoda pero sobre todo, elegante. Disfrutar de una cabaña alpina con el frío clima de Tecpan fue una excelente forma de celebrar el aniversario con mi esposo. Sucy nos apoyó en todo momento. La habitación es cómoda con calefacción, con escritorio de trabajo, organizadores para ropa, toallas, insumos básicos, el baño se encontraba limpio y la cocina equipada. Por la noche el clima hace una perfecta sintonía con el ambiente cálido que se siente en la sala, donde la pasamos emponchados en un sofá con alfombra y una tacita de café. Sin dudas volveríamos a ese lugar.

This house is incredible. It is in the perfect location on the lake, with the best views. There is a dock right out the front and it’s super easy to catch the boats around to the towns. I would definitely stay here again. It’s a beautiful place and the hosts are so responsive and helpful. This house is so luxurious and a perfect place for a relaxing holiday.
