Family-friendly vacation rentals in Sandy Bay

Our stay at Casa Caribe was great! The view is absolutely breathtaking. 180°+ view of the ocean. It is truly indescribable. the grounds are beautifully done and well-tended with tons of tropical plants and flowers. It was super easy to kayak out to the mangroves and to the reef for snorkeling which was a wonderful experience! The hospitality is top notch too. Chris was super communicative and gave wonderful suggestions for places to visit. He even made reservations for us to make it easier. Banuel is the caretaker and he is so wonderful. He is there for absolutely anything you need at all and he is truly happy to serve guests. He also has great knowledge of the island and tells great stories! They truly take all the stress out of the vacation by having everything you could want or need. And they are willing to get for you anything they may not have. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. It was beautiful, restful, relaxing, and fun! If you are going to Roatan, this is the place to stay!

We couldn't ask for a better spot! A day before our trip it was impossible for us to find a place to stay that was comfortable and central, and when we came up with this condo, we didn't think twice - and we didn't make a mistake! Fátima and Tirza responded to all our concerns, and hosted us on short notice very warmly. Tirza transported us from the airport / ferry to the condo and gave us some good tips from the island! The place is very comfortable, spacious, clean and above all it is in one of the best areas in Roatan. Oscar, who manages the property during the day, was key to meet all our needs. We are counting the days to return to the paradise island of Honduras, Roatan and stay here again!

Amazing hosts and amazing apartment! Super clean and a beautiful apartment with amazing views. Just a 3 minute walk from the beach and in a very safe location. Loved the apartment and the service.

We had an incredible stay at Ocean Breeze! Jerri was so informative, helpful, and responsive. George and Mabel made us feel like family and ensured we had everything we needed. Definitely have Mabel and Sami cook for you! We loved being able to walk right off the pier in front of the house and snorkel every day- the reef is fantastic. It was great having the Reefhouse right next door as well. The house is well stocked, laid out well, AC in the bedrooms is cool, and the view is stunning. Just for awareness, we are a large family and the extra bedrooms are in an apartment-style down a path behind the house. It is close by, but a couple of our kids had to sleep over there and that might not work for everyone. Also the house is 45 min at least from West Bay, but we actually preferred the location of the house to the more touristy side of the island. Everyone we met was so kind, we were well cared for, and we had a great mix of fun and relaxation. Thank you!

This is a great place to stay. The big beautiful house , very nice fully equipped kitchen with everything you might need for cooking , big dining tables (indoor and outdoor) , convenient kitchen island, big outdoor grill . Rooms with baths nice and clean. Tropical garden with fruits ans flowers, beautiful swimming pool,sun-loungers,hammock. Outdoor area was nicely landscaped and daily maintained. The Watchmen or better to say security guard watch the property from the dusk till the dawn. The host was very nice and helpful if you need any help or something special ( like our friends wanted to have ceramic instead of Teflon coated pan – they got it a brand new instantly !) There is a special bonus for Ham Radio enthusiast – The fully equipped Ham Radio shack of HQ9X.Two Icom radios with two Alpha 99 amplifiers ,rotary tribander beam 10m-15m-20m and Verticals for 40m, 80m and 160m provides endless pileups 24/7.

Pristine 0104 can't be beat on the island of Roatan. Beautiful private pool, steps to the beach. A short walk to Las Verandas and Prospera. Jimmie, from Roatan Life, checked us in effortlessly and he was very helpful.

We had a wonderful stay at the Calabash Reef House! You can see the ocean through the swaying palm trees and hear the waves. The reef just off the shared dock is beautiful. The neighbors are super friendly and helpful. A few things to know: You must have a 4x4 or AWD to get to the house (or a motorbike). There are several very steep hills once you leave the main road. If you have a pet hair allergy this is not a good place to stay - there is a lot of cat hair in every nook and cranny. The water can be rather tricky if you are there in the dry season. You will need to be very frugal and keep a close eye on tank levels. In order to fill the tanks you will need to turn the pump on and off twice a week at set times - and they don't always get full. This little neighborhood is very isolated. It is at least a 20-minute drive to a restaurant and there are not many restaurants on the east end. If you want nightlife stay on the west end. Personally, we like the quiet of the east end.

Rosalina and Sonny are amazing hosts! They picked us up from the airport and brought us back after our stay. This is above and beyond what many hosts do. The cabin had a clean and cozy feel. Very clean considering the sand and being right on the water. The kayaks were available to use, no fee. We had a lovely stay in paradise. It’s a beautiful location and private.

Amazing host, she was there when we needed her. Very responsive. Great views and was very spacious. Although the beach is public.. we felt safe in the area, and only saw the neighbors walking the beach. Ready supplies were available (towels, kitchen dishes/ cookware). We felt at home and I would recommend a stay here!

Our family enjoyed staying at this beautiful home. The kitchen is well supplied, including a good outdoor grill, which gave us lots of room to cook together. We enjoyed the pool as it book ended our days out at the beach. We enjoy a good walk which is needed to get to the beach. And going through kimpton hotel shortens the walk and gets you to the beach spot that leads you to great snorkelling. we also enjoyed drinks and snacks at the hotel’s restaurant sea cat while aT the beach. We gathered together in the large living room and the beautiful deck while also enjoying the privacy of our own bedrooms. Thanks for a great vacation

We had a overall great stay at Deb’s place. We are on maternity leave with our new baby and wanted to take our kids somewhere fun while having a break from work. Our 4 year old loved the pool And the beach that was right there. Burlee the property manager was always attentive to our needs and even met us at the airport and helped show us around. The property itself is a little bit dated, and there were just minor things that needed fixing while we were there. Also The road getting there can be pretty rough. I would recommend getting a car with some clearance on it to be able to get in and out. Overall though we loved and enjoyed our time and Deb’s place. I think it was a great fit for our family adventure and I would recommend it to other families.

TRIP OF A LIFETIME! WOW! Just WOW! What can I say about Fort Morgan Cay, Islas de las Bahía and Mark & Julie that has not already been said? The island is breathtaking! Exactly like the photos but better! The staff is A+! The food was fresh & delicious! Mark was our host as Julie was sick during our stay in Feb 2024 and I feel like we made a lifetime friend even though we will probably never see him again, lol. His service did not skip a beat. He was extremely communicative prior to and during the trip. We always knew what to expect and were well informed. We celebrated my husband's 40th birthday here and I paid for almost ALL of the extras...sand sculpture, fire dancers, fireworks, snorkeling at Pigeon Cay, tour of local villages and mangroves, day tour of Roatan...Trust me it's worth it! We rented this house coming off of a medical mission in La Ceiba. Walking into this house left the entire team speechless. It’s breathtaking and we are definitely rebooking this place next year. We had a team of 10, it fit us all easily. Matt, the house director was able to get us rides to and from the airport on short notice, and he was very accommodating when our flight was delayed on the way home. I can’t say anything negative about this stay, it was absolutely fantastic. Exceeded our expectations entirely. Thank you for everything!!

We found Sarah's place to be the lovely quiet tropical get away we were looking for. It was very roomy. A real treat was the community pool in the back yard that us and the neighbor had almost exclusive use of. The pool and properties are well cared for. There was 24/7 security at the street entrance and patrolling the neighborhood. We ate most of our meals in after stocking up at Eldons and enjoyed occasional outings. Relaxing, swimming and snorkeling were our main goals. The property is on a hill and returning from the pier was a bit challenging for two 70+ yo. We often stopped at the cafe after a few hours snorkeling for refreshments or a meal before the short climb. We saw a big variety of tropical fish including Eagle Rays, eels, tangs and Lion Fish. Also large schools of Grunts and Sargeant Majors and a few sea stars. We have been to Roatan many times and loved this quiet retreat. But if you like to explore a car would be necessary or grab a cab or collectivo.

Great location for those that love the sound of the ocean in your backyard. Super views. Location is minutes from West Bay. We rented a car so beaches and other adventures were easily accessible. Our local host, Vanessa, was super helpful. Some of the appliances and furniture are a bit worn but that did not take away from our fabulous time. The decks and widow’s watch are great places to hang out. We had no issues with electricity, water or internet (as you seem to hear about often in Roatan). We would definitely come back again!

Hi place was great! Carla and the crew were great at welcoming us! Felt very safe. Convenient location to airport allthough I recommend a car or mode of transportation. Great dock , deck, pool and right in the beach and water. About 10 minute drive from West End with many restaurants and some night life. Some live music and great sunsets!! I would highly recommend this host and the property. Kevin May 2024

Stephanie was very accommodating! The pictures do not do the plave justice, it was absolutely beautiful. We loved the setting as we were near the middle of the island so we could easily get to either end within a reasonable time. The lack of crowds, especially on cruise ship days, was wonderful.

Beautiful home, close to the beach but far enough away to enjoy some peace and quiet. The pool was literally private and just a few steps away.

Great place, have stayed in this area before and always enjoy ourselves. Kitchen is fully stocked with all anyone would need to do there inhouse cooking. Much better equipped than others. Unfortunately, road construction created a lot of dust that needed sweeping up every day. Good side is that in a couple of months there will be a great new road and no more dust!! About us, we prefer a more relaxed off the tourist grid accommodation which is what Sundancer Cabanas is. If you are looking for all inclusive 5 star "Marriot, Hyatt" type this is not for you. There are at least 6 couples from around Canada and the US that stay at these homes and we have been coming here for years.
