Our home is nestled high on a hilltop in the established and desirable neighborhood of Vistas Atenas overlooking the quaint town of Atenas. We have unobstructed stunning views from Atenas to the capital city of San Jose, and boast temperatures slightly more moderate than the valley. The daytime views are only surpassed by the dazzling lights at night. We are a sort 3km drive to downtown Atenas. 2 acres of manicured gardens surround our large modern home. Safe and secure parking in our gated and fenced compound. Atenas is well situated making access to all attractions popular with tourists. Peaceful setting in a safe, gated community. Host was a great communicator. You might consider something closer to San Jose if that is where you’re planning to visit. Bottle-necked traffic made for long drives in and out of the city.

I booked a.night to stay at donnie and lisa's place. unfortunately, my plans changed, and I had a conflict and was not able to stay with them for the night. i was able to meet them and they were delightful. They were very understanding of my situation. I am certain they would have been wonderful hosts.

Alojamiento hermoso, con vistas increíbles. Desde que llegas rodeado de hortensias. Tiene unos jardines maravillosos.Todo en excelente estado. La cabaña es hermosa, bien diseñada. Tiene un enorme ventanal que te permite ver desde tu cama todos los jardines. Es muy segura, tienes mucha privacidad. Camas y almohadas súper cómodas. Muy bien ubicada cerca de gasolinera y tienda de conveniencia, parque del Volcán Poás y a 40 minutos del aeropuerto. Es una joya. Lo recomiendo mucho. Y a propósito tienen perritos muy amigables en la propiedad son hermosos y de repente te van saludar

Our stay at Rancho Montecito was beyond amazing. The accommodation is second to none, and the views from it are incredible and emotional; from the peace of the morning with the birds singing, to the exhilarating theatre of dramatic thunderstorms. The forest walk, ending at a stream with a green meadow beyond it, was beautiful, and the herds of white Brahman/Nelore cattle were striking against the jungle background. We love that this is a ‘no-kill’ farm. Debbie was welcoming and went out of her way to ensure that we had the best experience possible not only of her ranch, but also of the whole area. Her story of finding the farm, and the vision she had for it, was mesmerizing. Using her immense knowledge of fauna and flora, she poured her energy into it and molded it into the truly amazing place it is now. Thank you so much, Debbie, for such a unique and magical experience. We truly felt we made a lifelong friend from pretty much the moment we met you, and we can’t wait to return.

I cannot say enough about this place! If you are looking for a peaceful escape, this is the place. The pictures don’t do it justice. It is amazing and would not hesitate to book here again. I will absolutely miss mornings on the deck watching the sun come up and listening to the river trickle by. The hosts were great and really helped with recommendations. Seriously. Book this gorgeous place. Only note for folks considering this location - the two bedrooms are on the lower level with separate outside entryways. Was great for us but may not work for everyone.
