Food Scene

One of the most traditional Italian restaurant in Brussels. About ten pasta dishes in total, served in amazing preparations such as chickpea mousse, italian ham, stuffed with ricotta cheese or pumpkin, or served with traditional italian sausage. The place itself isn’t too elaborate but never mind, you come here for what Italy does best, the food.

La Maison Renardy is a real gem, lost between Matongé and the european headquarters. The dream place to drink tea or coffee, spend the whole afternoon talking while watching the rain against the windows. More than twenty different coffees, and more than a hundred types of teas, from everywhere around the world. The teapots are serverd with homemade chocolates, and a little hourglass comes with, to let you know when the tea is ready. All the teas are served by the teapot for 3,20 euros. If you choose to share one, you’ll still have at least two cups each, so its a pretty good deal. And of course, you can buy tea and coffee by weight.

The atmosphere of this restaurant is just great! The dishes are more Japanese inspired than really Japanese, but we loved it. We loved the tender eggplants cooked in miso with bonito flakes, the homemade gyozas and the lamb yakitoris. The lunch set menu is quite inspired as well, really colourful and all for for 15 euros. It is important to mention their amazing and sunny terrace, perfect to enjoy a glass of spritz in the summer!

Drinks & Nightlife

Ideal for a stop over a meal, a drink or a coffee, the Ultime Atome offers a true range of the Franco-Belgian cuisine in an Art Nouveau "revisité" decor where the atmosphere couldn’t be more cosmopolitan. It is also a not-so-typical brasserie that provides daily new suggestions, homemade recipes and dishes for eating "on the go", quick turnaround at noon for a lunch between colleagues or a pleasant setting for a sit down with friends in the evening.

Great bar to have some beers and the terrace is amazing in the summer! It represent Ixelles at its best! Tucked behind the St boniface church this is a real find in Brussels. There is colourful chairs on the terrace during the day and summer nights, great beers on tap, basic but good snacks, board games, nice people, and nice vibes!

Great bar to taste Belgian beers! The concept is akin to a traditional Paris brasserie, stripped of any fussiness and adapted to the Brussels bar style. Like its Parisian counterparts, STAM serves light meals and snacks and do a great brunch on Sundays. On sunny days, the backyard and huge front terrace are a must!
