Food Scene

We like the food very much. They have the best pizza in this region. There is a wine and beer bar. The staff is very nice and professional. We also like it because it's close to our location. This is a very popular spot for locals.

Alicia's is an excellent bakery for indulging in cookies and pastries, plus great sandwiches. They serve many coffee drinks as well.

Although it's a good restaurant it's also a place with a great beer (on tap) and wine bar. It's an old log cabin with lots of charm. It's also very popular with locals at all times of year.

Drinks & Nightlife

It's a bar but it's also a restaurant. It's in a historic log cabin and its charming and iconic. Sometimes there is live music, usually a local band. We're not bar people but if we were we'd go here or to the Rock.

Parks & Nature

There's a huge lake surrounded by granite mountains. In Summer there are a lot of campers and parking is limited, but it's a gorgeous place. A trail goes all around the lake that is about 4 miles of somewhat challenging hiking. They even have an outdoor movie theater that shows first run movies. The food is fast food and there is soft serve ice cream. Many trails surround this area.

Everything Else

This is a Pack Station where you can take a days long trail rides or 2 hour trail rides and everything in between. There are many cabins and campsites, a restaurant with a small menu, a cowboy bar and access to the Tuolumne River. There are hundreds of horses and mules that are managed by cowboys and herding dogs. There's also a small store. This is where hikers on the Pacific Crest Trail come to collect mail and buy food items on their way through.
