Kennedy Park is one of the best places to mountain bike and run in Berkshire County. Unlike most trails around here, these have not been destroyed by 4-wheelers (because they aren't allowed). Volunteers (mostly Art Stringer) do a great job maintaining the trails. The trails in the park are are pretty smooth and not very rocky; great for running, beginner mountain biking, cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Warning: Horses are allowed. Always yield to horses! Always have your dog under control! See: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g41639-d6963910-Reviews-Kennedy_Park-Lenox_Massachusetts.html

Bash Bish Falls is located next to the 4,169 acre Mount Washington State Forest which offers 30 miles of trails, including the South Taconic Trail and wilderness camping. They both adjoin New York's 5,000 acre Taconic State Park, which offers full service camping, amenities and access to Bash Bish Falls by a moderate difficulty uphill foot trail. But what they don't mention is the fabulous back stretch (sometimes washed out) route great for motorcycling up the Mt. Washington/Mt. Everett cluster with alternate scenic paved route to So. Egremont/Great Barrington, or the more off road trail to Lakeville, Ct. See: http://www.mass.gov/eea/agencies/dcr/massparks/region-west/bash-bish-falls-state-park.html

Along a really scenic stretch of Rte 8 just leaving Massachusetts into Connecticut and open seasonally, has a surprising and striking vista of a suddenly open moonscape. During drought a passable 6 mile shoreline trail is revealed in this moonscape that I've taken on motorcycle. Memorable!
