As well as interesting gigs and plays, there's a nice bar, especially nice in the summer when you can sit outside by the river.

Parks & Nature

It's pretty close to the flat, easiest by car if you have one, or probably 20 minutes or so to walk. Nice spot, with a lake where various watersports happen, and a cafe.

By the university, on the opposite side of town, there are really nice river and lake walks. It's a bit of a wildlife area, sometimes I've seen herons and on one occasion a snake. :) There's a basic cafe there too.
