Solid Japanese eatery, from fresh sushi and aburi to deep fried pork cutlet. They also have a special bento box that they serve a limited number of per day, so better get there early so they don't sell out. If you love Japanese food, this place will not disappoint.

Serving up huge slices of cakes, this is the perfect place for a casual romantic date. We love the Diplomat.

This is our favourite ramen restaurant in all of Vancouver. Fresh noodles are made on site, frothy chicken base stock, sea lettuce, and the perfect medium cooked soy sauce egg. After going for the last five years, and also trying other ramen restaurants in between, Marutama is undoubtedly the best of them all.

A huge portion of fresh made pasta and sauces, all for $10.95, extra $1.50 if you want to add chicken or meat. I couldn't finish my pesto on pappardelle. Nice young people who run the place and a lot of regulars get take out from here. They're closed Sundays, so better hit them up the other days of the week.

It would be wrong not to visit Stanley Park when you're visiting Vancouver. Whether on rollerblades, bike, or foot, you can take in the 10 km seawall. Check out the aquarium, zoo, rose garden, Prospect Point, Second Beach, Third Beach, and finish off with English Bay. The park is so big and beautiful that you can literally spend a whole day there.

Sightseeing

After you're done at Stanley Park, drive over the Lions Gate Bridge over to West Vancouver to check out Vancouver's north shore. A lush geographical area that exemplifies one of the reasons people come to travel or settle in Vancouver. The suspension bridge crosses the first narrows of Burrard Inlet, and the view is just beautiful on a sunny day. The term "Lions Gate" refers to The Lions, a pair of mountain peaks north of Vancouver.
