Parks & Nature

Walk forest trails, see inspiring floral displays and enjoy nature at São Paulo’s Jardim Botanico (Botanic Gardens). Featuring one of the last remaining examples of Atlantic Rainforest, these grounds preserve and protect Brazil’s western coastal environment. Look for local fauna, relax by the garden lakes and explore nearby attractions. The Botanic Gardens were built as part of a larger state park surrounding the city. Today, its 89-acre (36-hectare) area is home to about 380 species of native trees, which are preserved for research and animal habitats. Explore the garden’s many trails to find delightful displays of local plants.

Sightseeing

The 2.8-kilometer long Avenida Paulista is located between the Center (the "old" city) and the West (the "modern" city) and almost predictably, the avenue looks like a perfect blend between the old and modern faces of São Paulo, with historical architecture coexisting with glass skyscrapers. The avenue is crowded day and night, with people from all ages, social classes, ethnical backgrounds, etc… In the avenue itself and in the streets surrounding it, one can find many shop galleries, restaurants, food courts, pubs, cafe's, cinemas, theaters and cultural centers, from all price ranges. But Paulista is much more than just a touristic attraction or an entertainment/shopping area.

If you are doing a city tour around West Zone of São Paulo, you should go to Praça do por do sol, or in English: Sunset Plaza.  Like the name says, the main touristic attraction is the wonderful and surprising sunset in the afternoon. The Sunset Plaza is located in Pinheiros district, in Sao Paulo, at Diógenes Ribeiro de Lima Avenue. There are people gathering every day, mainly when the sky is clear and the day is sunny. It is an advise for those people who want to enjoy one of the most beautiful views of the city.
