Great place for a family or a day on the lake.Hiking trails and swimming, canoe and boat rentals available as well as food at the lodge and camping. Stanley is less than 10 minutes away and one of the coolest small towns in the country with a gravel Main Street. Make sure you stop by the bakery in the summer too!

Smaller and less crowed than Red Fish Lake. Access to the lake, fishing, boating, the beach and camping. A starting point to hike to Alice Lake, one of the most beautiful hikes and views less than 45 minutes from Ketchum.

Fun Facts About Sun Valley

Sun Valley was the first ski resort to build a chairlift in the country in 1936 and the cost was .25 cents. Sun Valley has the largest automated snowmaking system in the world. Sun Valley gets 250 days of full sun a year! The first American to win a gold medal in skiing in the Olympics was Gretchen Fraser from Sun Valley. Ernest Hemingway is buried in the Ketchum cemetery. Non-fogging ski goggles took off here (Smith Optics) which was based in Ketchum from 1965-2015.
Getting around

Bike paths and buses run free through the valley year round.

Mountain Rides Transportation (MRTA) has bus routes operating across Sun Valley, Ketchum, Hailey, and Bellevue.
