This is a typical open-air restaurant in Maz. Amazing pork carnitas, sold by item or by weight. A kilogram feeds five, with salsa, peppers, onions and tortillas. Last visit, $300 pesos. The seating area is a gardeners dream; old trees, vines hanging up and down, beautiful area to eat a great meal. Off the beaten path, but oh so worth it.

THE VIEW! Located on the beach, this iconic spot has the best margaritas, especially when made by Pancho. Deep fried, marlin stuffed peppers accompany chips and salsa. Octopus-amazing, Mexican plate, delicious, ceviche is yummy and the not on the menu Tequila cheese. Save room for Spanish Coffee, which is made tableside. Feeling romantic? Consider reserving a table on the beach. Rose petals, candles, it is a sight to behold.

The pizza is good here. It is at the end of the Cerritos bus line, so you don't have to have a car. Friday night karaoke is fun here, and the beer is cold. Caesar salad is disappointing. It is in a nice spot for shopping the market booths nearby.

Great food on the beach. The tuna is my favorite, and it is a popular spot with the cruise ship travelers, making lunch a busy spot on those days. Very attentive staff and a palapa roof.

It is a lovely place, and it is quiet on the back patio. I have been there several times, but have only eaten the Portobello Margarita; it is filled with spinach and cheese, served with toast points. It is sooooo good.

This is a beach front, open air, palapa covered spot. There is a cover charge, which gets you seated at a table with a server. The music is mostly pop, techno and happening! It has mostly a younger crowd, but when we show up, we usually have a fan club! They are only open until 4 am. hehehe

Parks & Nature

Go here early during the hot seasons, as this is a major hike up the side of a steep hill. BRING WATER. It starts off as a mule path, and then 330 steps of glut killing pain. There are wild flowers, animals and assorted critters. Don't forget to bring a can of dog and/or cat food, as the worker's family takes care of the resident cat Tiger and German Shepard mix dog. The dog was intimidating, but once we chatted with him, he wandered off for a siesta. The views are incredible from up top, as you can see the port, Stone Island, Centro and the skyline of the Golden Zone. There are some beverages for sale up top, but no access to the building interior, of the lighthouse.

Entertainment & Activities

It's a theatre, that showcases the abundance of talent in the state of Sinaloa. The Culture Festival in October was WORTHY. The Holiday Extravaganza, beautiful. The building was restored and is a lovely Colonial, three tier building. The open courtyard before entrance houses banos and a view of the stars.

Come to the plaza for a historic colonial gazebo, restaurants, the festivities abound. The evening brings the close of some streets, allowing the restaurants to spill out and create tons of outdoor seating in addition to interior seating. At night this place is magical; early on it will be Gringos, later the Nationals. Eat, drink, people watch, ship, listen to live music, see performers such as hip hop and national Indians, watch wedding couples get their photos taken, and Quinceaneras as well!

You can ride to the port, and hop a ride on a ponga boat, for the ten minute ride across the harbor. Once there, walk or hire a taxi to the restaurant row, pick one, be served, ride a banana boat, jet ski, play in the surf or walk the long beach towards the tree farms and golf course near the airport. Lifeguards on duty. Fresh fish are also available for purchase in the afternoon.
