Food Scene

There's lots of places to eat at The Docks, from big chains to little cafes, plus a street market some days. There's parking and a shopping outlet at the Quays next door too.

Drinks & Nightlife

This little French-themed place does a cafe-menu in the day and has a full restaurant service in the evenings. They have a lot of live music too, and a great selection of cask ales and wine. Check out the well in the entrance!

Parks & Nature

This is my absolute favourite place to be. Not only is the view stunning, but the wildlife is, too. Take a picnic, or visit the nearby Air Balloon pub for a good meal.

This is a true Farmer's Market - everything sold in the shop has the number of miles travelled on the label. They have some weird and wonderful resident animals such as ostriches and llamas, which you can pet, and they regularly run bouncy castles, Pick Your Own days, funfairs and fetes. The Deli is to die for and they have a small cafe selling local dishes too. There's also a large Harvester next door for huge Sunday lunches - but book first as it gets very busy.

The Wildfowl and Wetland Trust HQ is here. This place is amazing - they have expanded over the years and now have a huge Visitor Centre, guided tours, a toddler playground called Wellyboot Land, a big waterside restaurant, watchtower, secret keeps, a paddleboat lake and absolutely loads of brilliant places to explore. Make sure you go to the Tropical House and take a trip to the top of the Watch Tower. Try to time your visit with feeding time!

This is Gloucester's main live entertainment venue. They host comedy nights, cabaret, recitals, drama performances, cinema, dance classes and so much more. They have a couple of small cafes and bars within the historic building.

Shopping

This charity shop is HUGE and the staff are just wonderful. If bargain hunting is your thing, I would recommend heading just down the road and pay Emmaus a visit!

Stroud Farmers Market is on some Saturdays (check online before you go) and it's regarded as the best local produce market in the country. Everything is produced within a 100-mile radius. Try the cider and the vegan deserts stall.

This is your nearest larger supermarket. There's also a Co-Op just around the corner, but choice is limited there.
