Food Scene

Great introduction to Colombian food with an AMAZING atmosphere and quirky decor. It also turns into a great place to dance later at night with great live music. We promise you there is nowhere like Andres the world over.

Traditional Colombian breakfasts, brunches and baked goods. You can see it (and sometimes smell it) from the apartment. It is great value for money and we strongly recommend a visit.

Parks & Nature

We think this has the best view of the city. For this hike, allow yourself 3 hours. Possibly the most rewarding 3 hours of your life.

An iconic small town a few hours from Bogotá. If you're spending a few days here, we highly recommend you take a trip out the city to spend a night in Villa de Leyva. This is a traditional colonial town and EVERY street is stunning.

The most famous church in Colombia, situated on top of Monserrate. You can access the mountaintop church by cable car, teleferico or by foot. Climbing the hill is free and takes about an hour. I'd only recommend it if you're fairly fit though - the altitude and step climb aren't for the faint-hearted.

A beautiful neighbourhood in the city with stunning colonial architecture. We think it's better than 'El Centro' and much closer! The feel of Usaquén is very bohemian. There are tons of little coffee shops, restaurants, art galleries and street food. Also, the flee market on a Sunday is huge - and great fun!

Shopping

We are always surprised by the incredible array of food in this shop. It's the perfect place to pick up an edible gift for a friend back home. They also have a nice cafe!

Andino is arguable the finest shopping mall in Bogotá. It's only 15 minutes walk from the flat (in a straight line!) and is where you can find the high-end retailers such as Chanel, D&G, etc. and local fashion designers.

Drinks & Nightlife

This is a hidden gem. Find it, head to the (rather rickety) roof terrace, grab a drink and soak up the views. From here you can see the entire centre of Bogotá and the church of Monserrate.

Apart from dishing out delicious pizzas, this is a must-visit bar. The decor is industrial to match the warehouse in which it is situated, the live music on a Friday and Saturday is great and the speak-easy experience is great fun!
