Food Scene

Royal is a few blocks away, so it's super close. Even though it's technically a restaurant, they also have great coffee/tea and wireless. They open at 8AM every day, so it's a great place to grab some coffee, breakfast and read the paper, or do some work. At night it's a great bar and restaurant.

Drinks & Nightlife

This is our local brewery and it's fantastic. First of all, it's literally around the corner. So it's as local as you can get. The food is great as well. They have a mix of sandwiches, big salads, and entrees. We go here at least a couple times a week. Enjoy!

Sightseeing

DC is famous for our monuments, which everyone pretty much knows about. But, one of my favorite things to do is walk around the monuments at night. They take on a whole new personality, especially the Korean War Memorial. So if you get a chance, visit the monuments at night. It's safe and family friendly as well.

Parks & Nature

Rock Creek Park is filled with hiking trails that are easily accessible from metro or about a two mile walk from the house. The G2 bus line will take you right to one of the entrances on P Street, NW. I'm a trail runner so I've spent a lot of time running through the park and it's pretty amazing at any time of year. It's also a great place for a picnic or bbq with friends or family. Enjoy!
