the 7th district is also nice to see, it's more artsy, young, liberal, and has a lot of young designer fashion, and bars of course. Right around the corner is the shopping street Mariahilferstrasse that you could stroll down

I think one has to see at least one of the flak towers (complexes of large, above-ground, anti-aircraft gun blockhouse towers ) in Vienna. This one hosts the 'Haus des Meeres', a giant aquarium. Even if you don't wanna go in, you you can go to the top of the tower for 8 EUR and have a great view of Vienna!
