There is a track to walk or run around the reservoir. Open only during daylight hours. Beautiful view of the reservoir, New York Skyline, and the historic St. Michael's Cathedral to the west.

Ferry to Midtown, World Trade Center (the more expensive option). There is a town bus that goes to the ferry for free. On the NYC side, there are free buses from the ferry terminal to several routes all over NYC. Ferry is expensive but very scenic - I recommend taking it at least once during your trip.
