It's very close, does good food in the restaurant but also has a small bar area with a fire which is great for a drink. It's also dog friendly.

The Old Badger Inn in Eastington, Gloucestershire is a great example of a proper village pub! The Old Badger serves an ever changing range of cask ales from local and regional brewers and offers a very warm welcome and convivial atmosphere in which to relax and enjoy a pint and the company of like minded folk. People make pubs, and it wont be long before you are chatting to the locals and feeling you are in the perfect place. They have a great Tapas Menu and a Daily Specials Board! In addition there is a super Sandwich Selection, glorious homemade puddings and of course a Traditional Roast served on Sundays.

CAMRA National Pub of the Year 2014 – CAMRA National Pub of the Year Finalist 2016 – South West Region CAMRA Pub of the Year 2014 & 2016 (Runners Up 2015) – The Sally – a genuine rural free-house in the village of Ham, close to the Severn Estuary. What makes the Sally so special isn’t the range of quality ales and ciders on offer, it isn’t the heritage pub games, it isn’t the humble bar snacks, it isn’t the cosy bars with log fires and it isn’t the genuine community spirit which pervades. It’s something else.  It’s something intangible. Putting what makes the Sally special into words published on a website is nigh on impossible. You’ll just have to come and see it for yourselves.

The site is twelve acres of open grassland with wild flowers and wonderful panoramic views over the Severn Vale towards the Forest of Dean, the Malvern Hills and the distant Welsh Hills. It is an excellent spot to have a picnic with plenty of tables with benches and seats, a suberb place to fly a kite or model aeroplane, or take a leisurely stroll through the adjacent Woodland Trust beech wood or the Cotswold Way National Trail.
