One of the best places in Malaga for churros (tejeringo) dipped in chocolate. The cafe has taken over the whole street, with several outlets overseen by an army of mainly elderly, white-shirted waiters who welcome everyone like an old friend (and most are).

The street, in addition to being one of the most important shopping streets in Spain, contains very attractive architecture and was pedestrianised in 2003. Going to Malaga and not visiting Calle Larios is like going to New York and not walking along Fifth Avenue.

It was the palace-fortress of the city's governing Muslims. Against the hillside of the mount of Gibralfaro, it was constructed in the XI century on the ruins of another Roman bastion. It consisted of 110 main towers and some smaller ones. The Torre del Homenaje deserves special attention.

Alcazaba de Málaga
It was the palace-fortress of the city's governing Muslims. Against the hillside of the mount of Gibralfaro, it was constructed in the XI century on the ruins of another Roman bastion. It consisted of 110 main towers and some smaller ones. The Torre del Homenaje deserves special attention.
It is in the Renaissance architectural tradition. The cathedral is located within the limits defined by a now missing portion of the medieval Moorish walls, the remains of which surround the nearby Alcazaba and the Castle of Gibralfaro. It was constructed between 1528 and 1782, following the plans drawn by Diego de Siloe; its interior is also in Renaissance style.

The Museo Picasso Málaga is located in the centre of the old town, close to the Plaza de la Merced, where Picasso was born. It exhibits a selection of Picasso’s work from the late 19th century until his death in 1973. The 230 different works offer a unique insight into his developing style and are completed by constantly changing contemporary exhibitions. The Buenavista Palace itself, in which the museum can be found, represents a stunning example of Andalusian architecture.
