Parks & Nature

This is the legendary head of the Sacramento river that comes gushing out of the hill side right in front of park visitors. This is also a normal park with a big grass field, playground, barbecues, and regular events in the four rustic lodges.

This is the legendary head of the Sacramento river that comes gushing out of the hill side right in front of park visitors. This is also a normal park with a big grass field, playground, barbecues, and regular events in the four rustic lodges.
Although this is a man-made lake, it is extremely close to town and still quite pristine! There's a beautiful 7mi trail that completely circumnavigates the lake through meadows and evergreen forest. There are some stunning views of the mountain, places to camp, and swimming when the weather is nice.
