Sightseeing

Been to a few pueblos, and this is by far the best. No need to purchase a $300 tour. Drive there yourself and pay the modest guided tour amount from the visitor center. Definitely worth the explanations and history.

A wonderful destination on a rainy day ... but also worthwhile regardless of weather. Also a great cafe inside run by Slate Street.

This is one of those must-dos for most visitors. Unless you're claustrophobic and scared of heights ... And, restaurant Ten-Three at the top is not to miss, but you'll need reservations for dinner there.

Great short day trip from ABQ. You'll pass though some pueblos on the way, see some beautiful scenery, may get some indian fry bread / navajo taco street food at a roadside stand on the way, and can enjoy cooler temps and some good hiking and hot springs when you get there.

Of course you're going to Santa Fe when you're here. Almost didn't even put it on the list. Nobody comes to ABQ without visiting "The City Different"!

Neighborhoods

Fun, eclectic neighborhood near UNM with lots of great cafes and hole-in-the-wall ethnic places, along with some good shops for some not-so-touristy souvenirs.

More touristy for sure, but you have to walk around the plaza if you've never been here and check out what the native vendors have to offer.

Food scene

If you're short on time and don't have time to visit an actual pueblo, this is a great option. AND their restaurant has some great fusion-ish food.! If you're in town during a weekend in warm months, check out their huge covered patio with live music and all-you-can-eat tacos or forno pizza and a big dance floor. Super fun and reasonable priced.

Best Thai food in ABQ. It's on the west side, but only 15-20 minutes if you jump on I-40 near the Airbnb. Alternatively, there's a closer Thai place called Thai Tip which in good weather is walkable from the Airbnb.

Traveler advice

Book before you go

Balloon Fiesta Park-n-Ride tickets

It's not worth the hassle of battling traffic, and the park-n-ride is only a few minutes from the Airbnb at Cororado Center. So do yourself a favor and book these (which also include Balloon Fiesta admission) ahead of time. This year many days sold out.
