This is a really beautiful area. It’s less crowded because not as many people know about it. On the left just before you turn into the park there’s a nice little restaurant that sells terrific pulled pork sandwiches. Great to take with you into the park for lunch.

It’s so neat being able to see (quite close up) these huge animals. If you’re there during mating season it gets even better. You can hear the males bugling - which is an awesome sound. . They come here in herds. Just be careful and listen to the park rangers, so you don’t get hurt.

Boat rentals

This is the best place on the lake to rent a boat, for a whole day or half a day. Easiest to make your booking, on line super simple, the best boats - all Bentley’s and the best prices. Plus they are literally across the street and 2 miles west of me.
I recommend this place because: #1 booking with them is so simple. It’s all done on line. #2 they have the best boats. All the pontoons are Bentleys. #3 they have the best prices!!
