The most amazing cocktail I've ever drink was at Mayfair. However, if you want to avoid the crowd, go during the weekdays (except Thursday). On the weekend, the bar transforms into a club, and it's mostly bottle service.

A great way to visit this neighborhood is to rent a bike (or BIXI during the summer). Walking is great too. The Mile End offers the real vibe of Montreal. It has many cute cafes, independent shops and amazing restaurants. There are many vintage stores there as well!
