The original Inman Park location is sure to present people with a bit of a wait, but it’s worth it. Folk Art has earned a reputation for having some of the best brunch fare in Atlanta since opening in 2013. Having opened a second location in Decatur in the former Thumbs Up space, Folk Art continues to pull in throngs of patrons there, too. Look for plates of Southern brunch fixings on the menu, like deep-fried cheddar jalapeno grit fritters, Angus beef patty melts, and roasted pork and chilis over eggs and queso. Don’t shy away from the staples at this restaurant, including the three-egg omelets and whiskey compote waffle with fried chicken. The latter totally stands up to fierce competition in this chicken-and-waffle-crazed town..

Chefs Drew Belline and Ford Fry partnered to open no. 246 as a “Cal-Ital” inspired restaurant over ten years ago and are now excited to see it evolve into its next iteration of “OG” red sauce, classic Italian. 246’s reimagined direction marks a new era for the Decatur gem that pays homage to the old-school, Italian dining scenes of yesteryear through a new menu and a revamped ambiance that has evolved backwards through the decades to evoke the classic comforts of the Italian-American restaurant culture’s spirited beginnings. Reminiscent of the iconic mob-style destinations of the late 70s with scenes of guests enjoying the likes of spicy rigatoni vodka & a bowl of meatballs in gravy in mind, the menu features a remixed, throwback to classics like a classic house-chopped salad, calamari marinara, fried house-made mozzarella & cheesy garlic bread al forno for the table, Nonna-approved pizzas and pastas, secondi crowd-pleasers like chicken al limone, shrimp scampi, bistecca alla Fiorentina & sizzling flounder piccata — plus a playful dessert menu, classic cocktails and a carefully curated wine list of American and Italian standouts.

The White Bull is a farm-forward Italian restaurant by Chef Pat Pascarella. Located in Decatur, Georgia, The White Bull draws its culinary inspiration from the surrounding local market. While our small-plate menu challenges the Italian farm-to-table classics, it ultimately reflects the ingredients being seasonally, regionally, and sustainably grown across our beautiful state. We’re proud to work with an incredible network of farmers and purveyors who share in our mission to promote natural eating, cooking, and growing practices. Great food, drinks and atmosphere. These are just some of the ways we can care for you and make you feel welcome as our guest. There was a time when you pulled up to a gas station and immediately about 4 people would descend upon your vehicle with smiles. They would check your oil, check your tire pressure. Clean your windows, fill your tank and above all ask you how you are doing and what else could they do for you. They meant it. Full Service. We long for those days. Service, hospitality and guest satisfaction This is why we do what we do. We want to welcome you, meet all your needs and if possible exceed your expectations. We provide the restaurant version of Full Service.

Owned by Julian Wissman and Brian Holloway, Pho Cue takes over the former Festivals Jerk Chicken Grill space on Garrett Street, across from chef Kevin Gillespie’s restaurant Gunshow and cocktail bar Vesper. The pair launched Pho Cue last summer during the height of the pandemic and popped up frequently on weekends from parking lots and taprooms at restaurants and breweries throughout Atlanta. Wissman previously worked as a prep cook for Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q at the commissary smokehouse and uses several recipes from his wife’s family, who are of Hmong heritage hailing from Thailand and Vietnam, to create the barbecue-based dishes offered on the menu. Expect bánh mì and bowls of pho served with Texas-style smoked brisket here, along with pulled pork dumplings, smoked brisket egg rolls, and lemongrass pepper wet smoked wings.

The Beacon Atlanta — a cluster of six repurposed industrial buildings fortuitously situated south of Grant Park and north of the evolving Beltline — has shaped up to be a pocket of hidden treasures and varied food-and-drink experiences. Open for business since the summer of 2018, the Beacon (1039 Grant St. SE, Atlanta) may not boast a restaurant run by a celebrity chef, but it's a beacon of multiculturalism, a place where one can find Brazilian coffee bars, Jamaican jerk joints, ramen rooms and couture cookies. Not to mention one of the coolest cocktail bars in town. To get there via Grant Street, you will pass an immaculately maintained and cantilevered urban garden; the stable where the Atlanta Police Department keeps its equine officers (heed the sign that says, "Please don't feed the horses"); and Eventide Brewery, which has a lively pop-up scene as well as good beer. (Just recently, Eventide hosted food pop-ups by OK Yaki, Illegal Food and Adobo ATL.)

Sweetwater Creek State Park is a peaceful tract of wilderness only minutes from downtown Atlanta. A wooded trail follows the stream to the ruins of the New Manchester Manufacturing Company, a textile mill burned during the Civil War. Beyond the mill, the trail climbs rocky bluffs to provide views of the beautiful rapids below. Piedmont Park’s reputation as Atlanta’s central urban oasis is a bit understated. Its rolling hills and miles of paved trails earn it that title, but today there are plenty of attractions and several hidden gems packed into this nearly 200-acre green space located just north of Downtown. Whether you’re looking to sprawl out a blanket for an afternoon picnic, join in a game of kickball with friends or go for a dash of culture at one of the dozens of annual festivals, Piedmont Park has a way of bringing it all together. Originally founded as a country residence outside the city in the 1830s, Piedmont Park ties together several neighborhoods, including Midtown to the west, Ansley Park to the north and Virginia-Highland to the east. It connects to the Atlanta BeltLine Trail at the park’s southeastern corner.

Scenic, artistic, and a bit unusual: it’s one of Atlanta’s most unique hiking adventures. This multi-trail adventure at Constitution Lakes Park crosses paved paths, unpaved trails, and boardwalks through scenic, wildlife-filled wetlands, catching views of several small, marshy lakes. The Doll’s Head Trail, a short loop in the middle of this adventure, is an ultra-unique experience, a short hike through displays of bricks, toys, and tiles found at the park. The trail winds through the forest and exploring collections of found objects, washed from the banks of the nearby South River, now artfully and whimsically arranged in displays of folk art and culture.
