Truly a rare experience! This park appears when the dam stops the river from flow- ing into a part of the riverbed. This allows visitors to hike a short walk to the bottom where million-year-old fossils can still be seen in the rock. Be sure to call ahead to make sure the hours that the dam will be up for the day. The museum is open every day but the fossil beds are sometimes closed. Afterwards, get ice cream down the street at the Widow’s Walk and play on the playground over looking the river.
