Only a 20-min drive away, there are dozens of horses for riding trails, and an amazing animal farm / zoo area where there are exotic animals from around the world, as well as some native farm animals. You're allowed to get close and touch and feed most of the animals. Kids love it!

This is our personal favorite ski resort in the area for the price and overall atmosphere. A stop in Phoenicia on the way home is always a great idea for a little apres ski.

9-whole course on Main St with a seemingly relaxed attitude. I’m not a golfer, but I think they charge $1 a hike at some point in the afternoon on some days. Green fees are $20-25 otherwise.

We like to drive about 15-20 min west of Hunter and pull off at one of the roadside stops to take the short walk down to the Schoharie Creek. A beautiful and peaceful scene, it’s stocked with trout as well and fishing is allowed.
