One of the main entrances into Griffith Park is a two minute walk from the apartment. At 4,200 acres, this is a very large park and there are miles and miles of trails. It can be strenuous hiking, so bring plenty of water if you want to explore. The Hollywood Sign is a three mile hike from the apartment but you can also reach the Observatory, the abandoned zoo, and many beautiful views of the city. Just inside the park, (5-10 minute walk) there are two play areas with swings and other equipment good for children, as well as picnic benches.

Sightseeing

The "Bat Caves" as they are known, because of being the cave from which the Batmobile in the campy 60's TV Batman show exited during the opening credits (there are no bats in this cave) is an old quarry located about 10 minutes walk from the apartment. An interesting view of the Hollywood sign can be found here as well. These "caves" have been used in countless TV shows, movies, and ads and often you will find a live shoot going on.

This is the heart of the Hollywood Blvd Walk of Fame. Be warned, LOTS of "characters" dressed as Spiderman, Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Chewbacca, etc, who will pose for photos in return for a cash tip. There's a large shopping mall and several attractions such as Ripley's and Tussauds in the vicinity, as well as many dining options. This is one of the more iconic Hollywood attractions, but some may prefer to leave it alone.
