Sightseeing

Okay, I'm starting with the obvious, don't judge. Go and see the Hemingway house and see the cats with 6 toes. But, book a tour with a guide. If you just walk through you'll be like, "oh wow, a house...cool." But, if you do the door you will really enjoy the experience. Try to go during the week when it isn't as busy. Side note, if you haven't read "Old Man and the Sea" since high school, read it again. It's better after you have lived a bit. In fact, I'll leave a copy here for you.

Just do it. I thought it sounded silly, but it is amazing and beautiful and you'll be glad you did. Also, if you pay for admission you can go back again later that day. I guess that is just in case the butterflies are all sleeping when you go (who knows.) The gift shop is also a lot of fun.

ur family has done all three Escape Rooms at this location and we loved all of them! They are fun for a couple, a night out with friends, or for your entire family. Get online and book a spot. It was around $35 a person, but it was BIG fun.

This is one of the most difficult places to get in to—for good reason. Extremely popular for their scrumptious Tapas-style dishes and the best sparkling sangria around. The service is excellent. By far, this is our favorite place for dinner in Key West. Our recommendation: Call NOW to make a reservation during your visit. Start with a jug of sparkling red sangria. Follow that up with prosciutto-wrapped goat cheese-filled dates, Saganaki flambeed cheese, petite-rack Lamb and short-ribs.

Whether you visit for breakfast, lunch or dinner, you’ll be impressed with the ambiance of Blue Heaven’s outside dining area—complete with roving bands of chickens. Locals flock here for breakfast, but the food is incredible and fresh all day. Enjoy live music most nights. Breakfast and lunch are first-come, first-served. Dinner walk-ins are welcome, but expect a little wait. Very limited dinner reservations are available. Our recommendation: Try the Chef’s fish special and ‘London Calling’ cocktail for dinner. Beat the crowds--take a walk and visit to the host stand during breakfast or lunch to make dinner reservations.

Want a steak? A great steak? Grab an Uber or take an evening stroll to Prime, a New-York style steakhouse known by the locals for the large portions and Flintstone-sized steaks. Dark-wood ambiance and upscale atmosphere make this a favorite venue for romantic date and celebrations. Our recommendation: Call or go online now to make reservations. Start with escargot or Oysters Rockefeller. Share the Signature Bone-in Ribeye; it’s enough for two. The hash browns and truffled, smoked gouda mac and cheese are amazing.

People-watch at a street-side table on the porch of this hot-spot. You’ll be impressed with every…single…dish. This is a great place for smaller parties, but can accommodate larger parties with notice. Walk-ups are welcome, but make a reservation now for your travel dates to avoid the wait. Open for dinner only. Our recommendation: Order the ‘Devils’- bacon-wrapped dates to start. The Pappardelle is a must. Bread pudding or Cappuccino Martini for desert. If you can’t get a table downstairs, go visit Heather and Natasha at the upstairs bar—you can order from the full menu and you don’t need a reservation to sit on the balcony!

This place is a local favorite due to its ‘tucked-away’ location, fresh dishes and cozy atmosphere. Take a break from Duval and relax for a bit while you share a bottle of wine and experience some of the best dishes in the Keys. Our recommendation: Make a reservation now. Start off with a bottle of Duckhorn Sauvignon Blanc and a cheese board. Ask for extra honey. Share the lobster bisque. Go for the Hog Snapper—the Chef’s award-winning dish and one of the only Hog Snapper dishes in the Keys.

Like Ramen? Head to this noodle bar for a quick lunch or light dinner. The dishes are, well, Pho-king awesome. Rarely has a wait and easy to find a spot at the bar. Our recommendation: Grab the steamed buns and Red Curry Coconut Shrimp. Enjoy your dish at the bar with a cold beer while watching Duval foot-traffic.
