Reasons why I love Chapel Hill

Places to eat!

I worked here when I was in college and am close with the owners! I still pick up shifts when I’m in town because they’re great people and the food is amazing! True Neopolitan-style pizza made in a wood fire oven! All the pizzas are my favorite (;

This German bake shop is everything. My weekly treat spot to get a schneke (cinnamon bun), croissant, danish, or mandelhornchen (I cannot stress this one enough). The parking lot is shared with the Trader Joe’s and gets pretty crowded— parking across the street and walking is much easier!

Tacos Carnitas. I order at least 4 every time I go. The green chile sauce is *chefs kiss* Navigating the "parking lot" takes finesse, but there’s a parking deck at the Hampton Inn that’s convenient and free!

This cafe is special because you can access it by the trail behind the neighborhood! After a beautiful walk you can enjoy coffee that’s roasted in-house, excellent teas and pastries and environmentally conscious outdoor design. Seating is still outside only (as of May 2022) so go when the weather is cooperative!

I used to manage here, and am very close with the owners, chefs, and employees. It was my main anchor in Chapel Hill for 6 years. It's busy, loud and vibrant with fully authentic Greek cuisine cooked from recipes the owner's sister learned from their mother!

Hop over to Carrboro's Living Room, get a coffee and people watch. Perfect spot for lounging during the day. Grad students and WFH professionals study and work here. It's *the spot*

Don't miss

Chapel Hill Toffee

A lot of local grocery stores carry this caramel-filled chocolate delight. Look out for a light blue box! It's pricey and worth every cent
