Beautiful rocky beach a little off the beaten track. To get there take the mountain road towards Bocca di Magra and then head towards Montemarciello. You will have a panel indicating "Punta Bianca" on a sharp bend.

It is a beautiful 40 min drive through some spectacular Birch, beech forests and even on the hottest of summer days it is pleasantly fresh. There are a couple of places you can eat local food on the week-end and in the summer the Carrara refuge will also serve snack coffee and lunch. Many of the stones and marble pieces you see dotted around Cà di Polo come from here as there are pieces of white marble you can just pick up from the ground!

A fun way to reach Punta corvo is to take the ferry from Fiumaretta that operates daily July and August. Here are the details for you to copy and paste. http://www.servizipuntacorvo.it/battello-punta-corvo/

My municipal town and where Dante was exiled!! great sunsets from here and a few restaurants to choose from!! 15 min drive up the mountain!! drive carefully as the road is bendy! you will probably become familiar with the town if you prioritise this road to reach the valley and the beach which I usually do!

Great road to get here through Carrara and old marble quarries with a millennial tradition for marble seasoned lard!! You could hike through the ancient chestnut forest woods easily signposted by CAI (red and white flags maps of treks in Cà di polo) and finish off with some Candia (local red wine) and lard tasting. Mouth watering as I write! Make it adventurous and take the mountain road here via Fosdinovo . Just before the castle Carrara is clearly signposted. It's a windy road with some places to stop for coffee if you get the bends.. like in Castelpoggio.

Absolutely splendid little town to hang out eat ice-cream and visit the ancient shrine to Venus.. now of-course a church! Get to La Spezia first. There are ferries here also to the cinque terre. If budget is not an issue you could take the private boat(free if you dine at the restaurant!) to the little island across the bay and Indulge in a godly dinner whilst we are in Olympian territory and reserve a table at Locanda Lorena: https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g194862-d1025345-Reviews-Locanda_lorena-Porto_Venere_Italian_Riviera_Liguria.html

If you fancy something just down the road and have a lazy day around the house maybe a dip down to the river after this lovely simple worker Lol lunch! 8 min drive and for 13 Eur you get primo, second, dessert, wine coffee and cake! Prety amazing! After this you definitely need the cold water fro il bardine to pick yourself up. Heading back to Cà di Polo park the car near the junction where the sign is for Ponzanello. There is a slip of road heading downwards. You continue this road on foo... many barking dogs! They are harmless though! When you reach a medieval tower you know you are heading the right direction! This place belongs to some friends of mine! I found it for them!!! just keep walking to the end or the arches then go down the dirt track.. you should hear and smell the water by now... https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g1400553-d4216784-Reviews-Vecchia_Bruxelles-Aulla_Province_of_Massa_Carrara_Tuscany.html

Very low key nothing fancy but great just to get out for a very reasonably priced pizza and not far away (10-12min drive) to rest back at Cà di Polo with the sounds of the cicadas. Maybe a last Limoncello to the health of the driver !
