Neighbourhoods

Where our apartment is. This part of the city is mostly residential area. But also where the sculpture park Vigelandsparken is located. Take the tram from Furulund to Thune and walk the gravel path to the park. We also recommend you walk all the way in to the city. There’s a sidewalk by the sea. Usually busy, but a nice walk. To Aker Brygge it is about 5km. You will find local cafés and restaurants at Harbitz Torg and Lilleaker.

Great part of town where you can find a lot of multicultural restaurants, Sørenga, and barcode. See if you’re able to locate the skate park, fuglen coffee roasters, or try one of the small restaurants at Grønland.

Sightseeing

Even the locals goes here from time to time. See if you’re able to solve the labyrinth around the large fountain! If you are visiting with kids, or care for a swim, there is a waterpark during the summer. By the way, the only restaurant worth a visit in the park area is «Herregårdskroen». It’s a bit hidden.if

We used to live in this area. And we miss it! The sculpture park is located on the opposite side of the city. But tram 13 takes you almost all the way. “Ekebergparken” is where you hop off. From there you walk up to the park. After visiting the sculpture park. Take your time to walk down to the city, enjoying the view from where Edvard Munch got his backdrop from his famous piece “Scream”. Back down you are in old town

Great to enjoy for an ice cream. Or something to drink. Not the best place for cheap and good food.
