Food scene

New on the Akaroa food scene, The Common Cafe and Bar is is my top pick for a morning coffee, lunch or a quiet drink in the afternoon/evening. With all day sun, a quirky interior and super friendly staff, this is a must visit. Don't forget to check out the loos!

Walking and Biking Options

There are plenty of great walks around Akaroa for all fitness levels. The website: bankspeninsulawalks.co.nz/akaroa-walks is excellent for finding more info about these. If you're a keen mountain biker Akatrax Mountain Bike Trails is the place to head. It caters for most abilities, but especially more experienced bikers. At the moment I'm not sure you can hire mountain bikes in Akaroa so it would be wise to bring your own. Check out www.akatrax.nz for trail and payment details.
