This is one of the hardest hikes we have done to date. Very steep and challenging, and an awesome workout. Would not recommend for beginner hikers. Sturdy shoes are a must. Bring plenty of water and snacks. The views at the top are surreal and if you really want to cool off, Wedgemount Lake is the perfect place to take a quick dip.

If you're looking for a hike that is close-by, minimally crowded, and does not require a trip up the gondola - this is the trail for you! The lake is warm in the summer and perfect for a swim. There are many trails around this area including Crater Rim Trail and Loggers Lake Trail that are a great way to spend the day.
