Paid Attractions

Paid attractions that we would recommend on the North Shore
The Polynesian Cultural Center has been the #1 paid attraction on the island for many years. It’s a must do while on the North Shore. It’s a family friendly activity that will keep the whole family smiling and entertained the whole day.

At Kualoa they have it all from Zip-lining, horseback riding to ATV tours. My favorite is the movie tour where you have the chance to relive some of scenes and sets of Jurassic Park, Skull Island, 51st Dates and countless more.

Hands down the best Zipline on the island. The tour guides are very entertaining and will keep you on your toes the whole time. The views are spectacular as you zip safely from one mountain top ridge line to another. Defiantly IG worthy.

Beach

Great beach just about 10mins away up the coast. Caution the wave do get large and dangerous. I would only recommend for those who are strong swimmers who have experience boogie boarding.

Waimea is a world famous for being one of the best surf spots on the island during the winter. None winter months it’s a great place to swim, sunbath and just relax. Parking is very limited. I’d recommend getting there early to beat the crowds.

Beach Town

Great little beach town about a 30min drive up the North Shore coast. Beautiful beaches and a lot of local eateries. Matsumoto’s Shave Ice is a must!

Neighborhoods

Punaluu is where this condo is located. It’s a beach town know for the friendly locals and uncrowded white sand beaches. There are a few nice food trucks in walking distance to the condo and a historic local mom n pop store named Kayas.

Traveler advice

Getting around

Rental Cars recommended to get around

Turo is another popular rental car option (like Airbnb for cars). The local City bus is another option but not always the most reliable in my opinion. The bus usually passes the condo every 30mins.
Customs and culture

It’s agains the law to touch sea turtles.

Please do not touch any sea turtles or get near any sea lions. It’s against the law and locals really do not like it when visitors do these things.
Useful phrases

Bring comfortable flip flops, sunscreen and a hat.

If not prepared with sunscreen the hot sun could really damper your stay if your get sunburn. Believe me it’s worth applying sunscreen to protect yourselves.
