Just good ole home cooking. Breakfast done in typical American style, perhaps southern style, hence the grits part, and sometimes that's just what you need. Very friendly owner and staff and literally one block away.

Food scene

I cannot say enough about how much I love this restaurant. Vintage and beautifully preserved saloon interior and something for everyone on the menu. Lots of draft beer choices. An local institution that I am so happy still exists.

Nearest beach and many different options for those who enjoy the beach. Piers located at Tybrisa Street as well as Fisherman's Walk on the Back River side. Very casual beach town and if you like lighthouses, they have a wonderfully preserved complex and lighthouse. In the mid-island residential area, the beaches are more quiet, fewer people. Near the main pier is quite crowded in summer. Beach walks are nice all year 'round.

Interesting modern art, much of which is by students or graduates of SCAD. The building itself is an interesting and well-conceived adaptation of an old railroad terminal.

A famous if not notorious house museum where events occurred in the book: Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Beautiful and preserved as the owner left it. There are other house museums in Savannah to see as well.
